Black Thrash Bastards
Eternal Armageddon

It's not every day that you come across a Metal band from the far flung corners of the globe. Hailing from distant Bangladesh and founded in 2009, ETERNAL ARMAGEDDON unleashed their demo "Black Thrash Bastards" at the beginning of this year. This release sees a change in style for the band, with a switch from Melodic Black Metal to a more Blackened Thrash vein following their split and subsequent reformation in 2014.
Incorporating a really Old School feel into their music, ETERNAL ARMAGEDDON's sound is fast, hostile, and dirty. Frantic-paced drums lay the background for Thrash-style vocals, a chunky bass, and rolling guitar riffs. This is a band that clearly gives no quarter. They have catchy songs that must be absolutely killer live, but sadly the recording quality of this demo leaves much to be desired, sounding more like a live album recorded with a phone than an actual release. This gives everything a very fuzzy basement-quality sound, at times making it difficult to distinguish the various instrumental parts. This is a real pity, as ETERNAL ARMAGEDDON show a lot of potential as a band; indeed, I could well imagine them as openers for acts such as SUICIDAL ANGELS. However, given that "Black Thrash Bastards" is a demo, and that some rawness in the sound is almost expected given the genre, this can be overlooked to some degree. And, to be fair, the amount of passion that must have gone into this recording also makes up for this: I have heard a lot of excellently mixed and mastered albums with phenomenal recording quality that don't have nearly half as much soul as "Black Thrash Bastards".
With a total play-time of just over 20 minutes, "Black Thrash Bastards" consists of four of ETERNAL ARMAGEDDON's own tracks, as well as a SODOM cover, and is limited to just 66 hand-numbered copies. And with "Black Thrash Bastards" up for free on Bandcamp, you've got no excuse not to give them a shot. Go give this very promising band a listen!
