In 2012, CVINGER emerged from the dark of coastal city Koper in Slovenia. CVINGER has many meanings, like a churches defensive structure or a wall on the graveyard that separates the suicides from others. Their freshest opus, released by themselves, created on 1st of December 2014, and is called "The Enthronement ov Diabolical Souls". This is their 3rd recording. First, released in 2013 was demo/single "Abyss of Horns". Second was EP "Monastery of Fallen", also from 2013. They represent the second wave of black metal, but in a bit fresher edition.

At first, I would like to mention Morgoth, the drummer and the main life-mover of the album. Non-stop blasting for almost 40 minutes is his work. Together with classic, tremolo riffs, it made the album become another merciless, skull crushing war-machine, which will blow everything you love. All right, there are few moments when you can take a breath, if you'll be able to. Three atmospheric, chanting tracks, which split the album into two chapters, bring strong feelings of anxiety. Of course, the misanthropy doesn't leaves us for even one minute, thanks to vocalist's harsh roaring. The band perfectly mixed dark atmosphere with sharpness. CVINGER decided to record their album professionally, so there is neither sough nor whistling. Production reminds me of modern WATAIN or MARDUK. It's a progressive trend on the Black Metal scene. Some people don't like it, but it makes new possibilities. The overall sound makes a great impression.

I consider "The Enthronement ov Diabolical Souls" as the worthy representatives of the Black Slovenian underground. It's proof, that 90's style black metal is immortal. I was entertained and quite interested while listening to it. Many bands exaggerate and make mush of tremolo and double bass, but CVINGER managed to make a wise and nice mixture of hatred and hard grinding. Recommended to all BM folks. Hail!<
