For Humanity (Re-Release)
Game Over

GAME OVER are a leading force in the New Wave of Thrash Metal genre, playing music as fast and aggressive as what you may here from names like LOST SOCIETY, GAMA BOMB or VIOLATOR, these thrashers from Italy certainly hold a high place in modern Thrash Metal and in their career spanning almost 7 years, they have very quickly made a high profile for themselves and released 2 EP's and 2 very successful albums "For Humanity" and most recently "Burst Into the Quiet" however, they are also about to re-release "For Humanity" with 3 live bonus tracks.
The album itself is pretty damn impressive; fast paced riffing, catchy choruses and thrash chanting, tight production and all around excellent musicianship. The album wastes no time getting stuck into its supreme thrashing, it kicks off with "Abyss of a Needle" with a short and powerful intro which triggered memories of early ANTHRAX for me, and then dives straight into to the rest of the song with a slight raise in tempo and tons of fast and exciting riffs. However, I feel like that's all that this album really showcases... I do love Thrash Metal, but I feel that far too frequently there is no variation in pace and atmosphere with these new age Thrash bands, all they seem to do is play fast. Again, I love speed and excitement in my Metal (Hell, don't we all?!) but I do feel that most of these new Thrash bands and albums all sound fairly similar because most of them do the same thing all the time, and personally, it diverts my interest. That being said, there are some really great moments on this album; some of the riffs are incredibly fun to listen to, and GAME OVER do have a very good sense of song writing and structuring.
In terms of the live bonus tracks, we have 1 cover and 2 original; the cover of course being "Iron Fist" originally written by the Heavy Metal legends MOTORHEAD, and GAME OVER pull off a great, and of course - faster version of this classic! GAME OVER sound like a great act to see live, the amount of energy I get from these live songs from just listening is insane! The way they took an already ridiculously fast song like "Another Dose of Thrash" and played it even faster live as if it was no big deal is very commendable!
