This entire album screams "classic rock anthems" from beginning to end. The Swedish blokes in "NITRODIVE" are back with their second full-length LP, and it is full of new songs that could easily carry the rock-anthem feel to a new level. To some, this album may be a "repeat" of every other band's "rock anthem" album, but upon a closer listen there is a raw, powerful energy that sets "NITRODIVE" a little bit ahead of the rest of the "rock anthem" bands out there.
From the album's opening, titling track "Re-Evolution" the listener is slapped in the face with a raw, fast-beat song with that rock-anthem-party-feel to it. This song is a classic "revolution" song about the band starting things all over with the release of their second full-length LP, and about how they are here to fight for their position in the world of rock-n-roll. This band will not back down again. This "rock anthem" feel is continued next with a "womanizer"-type song called "Dance". Every rock album has one, it's that song that talks about women, their bodies, their moves, and how they "blow the men away" with those things.
This album doesn't stop there as it delivers the classic "comeback anthem" theme in as "NITRODIVE" is here to stay, and they don't care what naysayers and haters may think about that. The next track is a classic "adrenaline-pumper" titled "Dead or Alive" that states that the band will not waste another moment making their dreams come true. The are going out to go after their dreams right now, and no one will stop them.
The album takes a bit of a "dreamier" turn with the track "Someday", where the band vows that someday they will be someone that matter. They will follow their dreams, and one day achieves what they set out to achieve. "Woman" is another "womanizer"-type song, which most rock albums have several of. This one is talking about a woman who is only willing to settle when she finds herself a real man. "Wake Up" is a classic demand to humanity to start taking action for what you believe in, and not being so passive and letting things happen behind your back. If you don't like it, rise up and change it. That's a message on most rock albums these days. Finally "Bad Blood" and "Because of You" close out with a classic a pair of "hate" anthem songs that state that its because of someone else that these people live a miserable existence with knowing they want some girl, but they can't have her because she is really not good for them.
Overall, yes, this is a general album full of "rock anthems", but the raw energy and the passion this Swedish three-piece brings to their music sets it apart from all of the other "rock anthem albums" we have heard thus far in 2014. Give "NITRODIVE" a listen, and you will not be disappointed you did.<
