Eternal Fear - UK Damnation - Live in London MMXIII album cover

ETERNAL FEAR are a band from Karlskoga, Sweden who since their foundation in 1995, have released 4 studio albums, and as of this year; their first live album "UK Damnation - Live in London MMXIII" in support of their latest studio album "Eternal Damnation", this album also marks their first appearance in London, England. Production wise; the clarity, tone and mastering here really does stand out and gives me the feeling that a lot of work went into making this album sound as authentic, gripping and mind-blowingly brilliant as possible, which is exactly how the album sounds, simply brilliant. I almost feel as if I'm there as part of the audience for the most part of this release.

Having never listened to these guys prior to this release, it's clear that British bands such as BLACK SABBATH, IRON MAIDEN and JUDAS PRIEST have influenced ETERNAL FEAR, which I feel is also why the band decided to record their live album in the UK; not only is it a milestone for stepping on new land, but also to document the first time they played in the home land of the metal elders that ETERNAL FEAR bear influence from.

Musically, ETERNAL FEAR have definitely got the right idea and the right stuff to make it big in the musical world; their music is varied but definitely heavy metal on all accounts and never fails to keep me enticed by their work. As I said, I've never listened to ETERNAL FEAR's studio work before hearing this album, but songs like "Eternal Damnation", "Army From Hell", "King of Sorrow" and "Piece of Me" practically forced me to dive into their catalogue and listen to anything I can find from these guys, they even play a new song at the show which will "Maybe on the next [album]", which is a hard hitting monster of track sure to get your head banging.

It's clear by the audio alone that ETERNAL FEAR had a lot of fun playing and recording this album, which adds more to the joy of the listener; hearing that the band they're enjoying were also enjoying themselves, if this band come back to the UK I'm certain I won't be hesitant to get down to a show, they're definitely not an act to let pass and this is definitely not an album you should avoid, "UK Damnation" is a fine recording of a great performance.
