SCANDELION was formed in Spain (Canary Island) in 2002 and they like to be called a Gothic Doom Metal Band and it means the Greek ruins of a fortress on the Jerusalem coast, very interesting indeed.

Having previously released three other albums, "The Pure Heart's Breed" 2008, "Demonia Preadictio Chronics" Demo 2009 and "The Garden Of Lies" 2011, now it has become a one man solo project by Jorge Afonso.

I am not a huge fan of Gothic or Doom Metal but as a reviewer I have to forget that and concentrate on what the music is about.

There is a lot of thinking in this album, lots of piano work and keyboards and tones of melodies. "My Darkest Thoughts" starts off with fast drumming and then becoming something like classic music with lots of anger, and melodies, quite interesting indeed.
"Dusk In Your Dreams" has some heavy riffs, good drumming and harsh vocals, at times very aggressive which I like a lot and the female vocals bring the music to another dimension, well thought arrangements, the music is very pleasant and everything works out just fine.

I really like Jorge vocals, it is really dark, heavy, evil and aggressive, the mix with the female voices work out very fine, I mean I can imagine the amount of work they have put into this album, and the result really shows.

As a concept of Gothic Metal I think SCANDELION have added something else into the music, I mean it is not so depressed and dull, the music is very complex with lots of changes and tempos, good riffs and melodies, as I said before I am not a huge Gothic Doom fan but I am quite impressed with their music and I can imagine how hard it was to put all this together.

SCADELION have given us a very good album indeed, very beautiful music made from the heart, and that's the beauty behind it and who Am I to say something bad about it?
The production is also good, sounding is excellent and art cover also great.
