Faith Extinguisher

BARBARIAN was formed in the historical city of Florence, Italy back in 2009, releasing a demo the following year. This self-titled demo attracted the attention of Doomentia Records and in 2011 they released their debut album, which was well-received and now in 2014 they release their sophomore album called "Faith Extinguisher".
Their sound could be best described as a mixture of NWOBHM with Blackened Thrash, they combine the raspy qualities of Black Metal, especially in the vocals that are almost Cronos-esque, with the aggressiveness of 80's Thrash and melodic senses of classic Metal. But this band is not restricted in one subgenre, take for instance the song "Crux Of Circenses" that is almost Doom Metal.
Although their sound is quite original it is not all that impressive, I enjoyed listening to the album but when I finished it there wasn't that craving to listen to it over and over again, there weren't any memorable songs or even riffs. Fans of Blackened Thrash Metal should probably check out this record and find out for themselves, since this is a pretty much love or hate it type of band.
