Mechanigod - Realms album cover

The fact that ITunes is a rotten litter box full of flaming cat turds and fantastic bands like MECHANIGOD are still unsigned is a perfect example of why the music industry sucks.  Now, I'm not going to start naming names.... But take a look at any tour coming up and MECHANIGOD should be replacing at least one of the bands on pretty much every bill.  Yup. I said it.  Don't like it?  Suck it.

"Realms" has a lot to offer. They do the listener a solid and put their intros on separate tracks which makes for easy skipping later. "I Shall Remain" is a great disc opener because it shows you exactly what the band is about.  These are the tracks that get a mosh pit started in the back of a car; at least they did in the back of my car, which is a Honda Element and has ample space for moshing as well as a waterproof interior perfect for when your buddies have already started tailgating when the urge to mosh hits them.

MECHANIGOD are not just proficient in Hardcore songwriting, these guys can play.  They do their best to not show off for most of the album but towards the end it starts to become a music school recess period.  Hey, if you got it flaunt it.

If I had one complaint it would be that Eylon Bart bites off a tad more than he can chew on the bands final track "Silent State of Mind". There is no rule stating that vocalists need to show their soft side.  Just keep screaming.  You do it very well. I highly recommend this album for anyone that is into BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME, MESHUGGAH, ANIMALS AS LEADERS or just good Hardcore / Metal with some brains.
