The Twenty Committee - A Lifeblood Psalm album cover

THE TWENTY COMMITTEE is a five piece quite band with their beginnings in 2012. "A Lifeblood Psalm" is their debut album. Although they are walking on a thin line between pop and progressive rock, their sound is quite unique, because they are taking best of the both worlds, adding their magic to it.

The opening track "Introduction" starts with snatches of random conversations, underplayed with simple piano melody, accompanied by clear vocals and wonderful subdued guitar. It`s a short but interesting track that draws your attention to the album.

First "full" track is "How Wonderful" that gets your attention straight away, it`s quite catchy, and moving away from pop sounding at the opening to a very strong progressive sound with amazing melodies. "Her Voice" is the longest track on the album, being over 10 minutes long. It starts with a pop sounding opening and then gets lost in the experimental stage, not working out the best for the song.

The five-part suite "The Knowledge Enterprise" is amazing musical experience. Although the songs can be played as individual tracks, it doesn`t distract from the overall flow of the music. Some of the best piano and synth parts can be found here, simple yet amazing guitars, and perfectly combined harmonies behind it all.

"A Lifeblood Psalm" is a wonderful showcase for a new band. Sound does stay on the familiar ground for most of the time, without much experimentation, but works out quite good. To describe its sound the best it would be if AYREON and SNOW PATROL joined forces. This is one of those albums you shouldn`t miss on.
