DEVIL is a Norwegian Doom Metal act that is releasing in 2013 their sophomore album, "Gather the Sinners", but, although shows great promise, it doesn't quite reach their full potential.

The strong point of this album is the strength of the instrumentals that have everything to set an atmosphere proper of the Doom Metal genre but unfortunately gets ruined by Joakim Trangsrud's vocals that sound amateurish and almost like he is reading the lyrics instead of singing them, he just doesn't have the required pipes to deliver what his record truly requires. Another thing that ruins the record are the lyrics that sound a bit childish sometimes which is most evident in the line "A restless wanderer wandering" from the song "Restless Wanderer".

This band has potential, if only they would find a better singer and have a better lyricist, this band could achieve a great deal.
