Conceived In Sewage
Devourment

Surely every Death Metal fan here has heard of DEVOURMENT, and the lucky ones definitely enjoyed their tremendous slamming effort on Death Metal with their early releases. Well, these motherfuckers are back with a new refined formula, ready to populate your ears with filth with the disgustingly brutal title "Conceived in Sewage".
The album brings forth a new approach towards a more traditional Brutal Death Metal formula. To those who always complained about the band lacking "creativity" because of their sound focusing on guitar chugs and undecipherable guttural growls, will find themselves discovering a whole new band.
DEVOURMENT paved the road for more structured guitar riffs, a more mature approach on vocals through practice and improvement (although the ultra low growls are still there), and the sound overall will be on par with bands like BENIGHTED, SUFFOCATION, MURDER CONSTRUCT, etc...
For fans of the band's early sound, you need not worry. DEVOURMENT still cling to their destructive formula found on "Butcher The Weak" and those early demos that slammed you 6 feet under the ground. This time that sound is mixed with more traditional influences but still contain remaining remnants of an early age where murderous occultists feared playing "Babykiller". In the end, the band that started the whole Slamming Brutal Death Metal sound cannot just die away like that can they?
The first single from "Conceived in Sewage" is "Fifty Ton War Machine". Now when I first played this on YouTube, I was surprised for the following reasons. (1) The production is superb. (2) The song structure is varied and shows a whole stage of evolution for DEVOURMENT. (3) My beard grew 5 inches in length by the end of the song.
If the above 3 reasons are not enough for you to either highly anticipate this release or give DEVOURMENT a chance (because you're an unappreciative fuck), then I have nothing to say to you. "Conceived in Sewage" will nuke the Metal industry and the aftermath will be what you see in the album cover. It appears the end of the world will be in February 29, and this review is an early goodbye to all of you.
