INFAMIA is fantastic band from Alfaro, La Rioja in Spain. The band play a melodic style of Heavy Metal with modern resonances. INFAMIA was formed in 2002 and was released 3 albums - first "Sueño O Realidad" in 2008, second "La Cuenta Atrás" in 2010 and recently released the third album "Neophobia".

Undoubtedly my number one on this album is the song "Por Siempre", the first ever song that I listened from this band. Right from the beginning I fell in love with their music. Sweet angelic sound of keyboards & bass from the top, hard hitting guitar riffs with a twitch of melody, a pleasant vocalist along with great backing vocals. The singer sings very well with soothing style of singing.. I really enjoy it when Metal musicians showcase their aggressive side while playing and composing. The opening track "Del Paraíso Al Infierno" has a fine melodic exhortation. Electronic intro, fierce entry with guitars & drums along with great lead vocals displaying both soft & powerful patterns will take you down two road, between laid back to burning red perception. The melodic music actually took me to modern Nu Metal / Rock stuff such as LINKIN PARK and GUANO APES. I liked the great rhythm section consisting of Francisco Javier Cernadas (bass) and Alberto Carretero (drums). The guitar solos are amazing as well. Another track filled with great melodies & unbelievable energy that took my attention was "Fiel A Mis Sentimientos". The utterly tasty & melodic guitar riffs make this song a potential hit as well as with the placid keyboards that add flavor to strong music. Elements of Hard Rock are evident on "Mil lágrimas" featuring vocal Carlos Escobedo (SOBER). Another worthy to mention point on album is "Jugando A Ser Dios" featuring guitars and drumming in the vein of MACHINE HEAD & TRIVIUM, simply perfect refined musically and technically. Awesome guitar solo again and an emphatic chorus. One ballad on this album called "Allá Donde Estés" with singing very clearly by vocalist. At the background there are fine keyboards, and in the front smooth rhythm section. For a while there I thought that I was listening to Steven Tyler (AEROSMITH). Fantastic guitar solo and violin in the background makes this song as fabulous turnout. Keyboards, fast drums & very strong guitars playing by the lineups spectacular guitarists José de la Conceptión "Caramo" and Mario Rodríguezon the song "Nuestro Final". An entry that reminded me of AMARANTHE's song "Hunger". I also found out that the drummer Alberto Carretero supports this song with his vocals. The chorus is very catchy and highly melodic. Mystical piece of mind & other Middle Eastern culture feel on "Gracias A Dios". The song talks about religion, new ideas of creative singing by band, resilient guitars & fast paced drums, a melodic edge crossing swords with heavy riffing. "La Cara Oculta" is an energetic like a Punk Rock song, storms with treats and political lyricism. The last track "Un Mundo Mejor" again hits with a melodic chorus and guitar riffs sounds like IRON MAIDEN.

Summing up, INFAMIA is excellent band. I'm very happy that I had pleasure to listen their new album. "Neophobia" is perfectly done, I have heard it more than a few times and I still have it in memory, especially those catchy melodies. Their energy and power can cause addiction. I like very much the way like Alfredo "Fredy" Amedo Orio's singing. He sings pretty much similar to Aaron Lewis (STAIND) or Cristian Machado (ILL NINO) in Spanish of course. INFAMIA mix elements of Nu Metal, fast paced Heavy Metal with clout and melody. Every song is varied, no one is the same. I'm positive about their high level of playing as they sound so professional. This album is full of positive energies & beautiful melodies. I can guarantee every Rock & Metal fan for receiving the best of everything that the band shares. INFAMIA is just mere example of respect for them. I bet their live shows are unforgettable and one day I wish to see the band live.
