Bleed For It
Thunderor

From the EPK: Four years since the 2022 debut "Fire It Up", Canadian rock/metal visionaries THUNDEROR follow up with their bold and unapologetically original new concept album "Bleed For It". Well, that is quite a bold statement, don't you think? This band from Toronto has been active since 2020 and only boasts three members, and they make Heavy Metal, but also Party Metal, Punk and even Folk Metal in the process. I hope you are ready for this, as the band has a real knack to throw your feelings and emotions all over the place. What is quite clear is that they make enough noise just by themselves, so they don't need any other instrumentalists.
Opening track "Pump Up The Volume" has Heavy Metal written all over it, but it is throwing you in every direction possible, making it impossible to predict their next move. "Bleed For It" has a proper and unequivocal Party Metal vibe, which changes into a combination with a Punk undertone on "Take Me To The Show". "Get 'Em Counted", goes even faster, making it sound like VAN HALEN on steroids. All of a sudden, we're in Boston Irish territory, as the violins and rhythms in "Cape Breton Home" will undoubtedly point you in the direction of a band like DROPKICK MURPHY'S . On "Streets Of Fire" we're back in the fast Heavy Metal atmosphere, and that is one kept on "One Chance". "DreamQuest" is a short Symphonic instrumental, while closing track "In The Fire O' The Heat" has that Irish vibe again, only now without the Punk undertone.
Musically there is no other way to describe THUNDEROR than as a band that has their ducks In a row. Even though they change direction ever so often, they do make themselves sound very coherent. But I have to say that is all for nothing if you can't get past the vocal achievements by JJ Tartaglia. He sounds really good when he sings in his normal voice, but as soon as the octaves get higher, he sounds like someone who's wearing a butt plug that is at least one size too big. That is when he flies off the handle and just sounds like the annoying brother of the singer of "Come On Eileen", yes, the track by DEXY'S MIDNIGHT RUNNERS. If you can handle his voice and the wide variation of musical styles on "Bleed For It", then you are in for a treat. If you can't, I strongly advise you to have a good listen before acquiring this THUNDEROR album.
