Beautiful Disaster

Lily Lowe

In sum, this was a fine album, as well as one that was fun to listen to. Lily’s vocals power the musicians, but they also keep up nicely. Most of the songs were around three minutes, which doesn’t give them album a lot of diversity, but it was fine as is.

From their EPK, "Beautiful Disaster" is a collection of songs that explores the chaos and contrast between strength and vulnerability — both lyrically and musically. The album moves between raw emotion and high energy, balancing heavy riffs, big hooks, and dark atmospheres. Lyrically, it's inspired by real emotions and experiences, but told through heightened, dramatic stories. Themes like power, desire, self-destruction, and transformation run through the record — from the haunting intensity of "Haunted House" to the unapologetic confidence of "Glitter & Gore" and the emotional turmoil of "Beautiful Disaster." Musically, it combines modern production with the heart of hard rock — blending powerful vocals, driving guitars, and catchy melodies with a dark edge."

"Demons" is the first cut. It's a short song that features keyboards, a rough riff, and a catchy chorus. Lily has a great voice also, and it's harmonized in the chorus. "Haunted House" has a meaty bass line, and her vocals are sultry. She talks about the haunted house as if it is describing what is in her head…the voices. "I will burn those fuckers down," she declares. "Beg For Your Life" is a slower paced song with a low riff and more meaty bass notes. Besides the chorus however, the verses are just a little thin. The guitar solo, though short, is great. The title track is gentler at first, and Lily's vocals come through strong. The bass notes keep the charge fired and the harmonized vocals provide many of the hooks. "That's just how I fucking roll" she says.

"Glitter & Gore" is a faster moving song with a raucous energy, and the verses are a bit more filled out. Of course, this music is usually all about the big hook in the chorus, and this song doesn't disappoint. "Our Secret" is a mid-tempo number that once again has a great bass line. "We can't just give into this unholy love" she says. "Love Like This" is the final cut, and it's the power ballad for the album…you 80's music fans know what I am talking about. In sum, this was a fine album, as well as one that was fun to listen to. Lily's vocals power the musicians, but they also keep up nicely. Most of the songs were around three minutes, which doesn't give them album a lot of diversity, but it was fine as is.
