Sometimes a person just needs to relax. I'm doing that just now, while listening to the new TAPEWORM ELECTRIC album "Moonshine". The temperature is pleasant and warm, without it being hot, humid or oppressive. We're sat around a campfire, as pictured in "Interlude". The atmosphere is mellow, gentle, subdued, or however you want to classify this no stress level of existence. I take a sip of my "Moonshine" Bourbon and let that glide down my innards, giving me a nice and warm glow. Then I sit back in my rocking chair whilst enjoying the feeling that I currently am in the south of the USA, redneck country if you will. But I'm not, I'm in a very cold, wet and windy The Netherlands typing this on my laptop whilst the radiator is keeping me warm. What a crash back to reality.

TAPEWORM ELECTRIC is a Hard/Heavy Rock band from Athens in Greece and was formed in 2018 and makes music that will give you all the influences and ideas I just typed up in the first paragraph. Timewise, you might want to consider that they make everything sound as if you're back in the seventies. What they have just right is the vibe to transport you to the area I just painted a picture of. They do that by making bloody good music, writing and performing very pleasant sounding quality songs. This isn't Southern Rock, but it does come very close. On "Moonshine" they have produced 47:34 minutes of highly enjoyable Hard Rocking music that will have you transfixed if you let it.

What certainly helps is the fact that they have a world class lady singing most of the vocals. Argyro Igkilizian has a beautiful and powerful voice, that will remind you of Meredith Brooks and Ann Wilson. She provides the cherry on the musical cake. She doesn't have to do it all alone on "Moonshine", as there is another band member helping out as well. Like in a song like "Right Reasons", where we have bassist George Kasapidis doing the lead vocals, and his voice fits the music just as much, is just as fitting.

I guess you won't be surprised to find out that I actually like what TAPEWORM ELECTRIC is bringing to the table and that I am going to rate this album accordingly. I can only say that if you love your quality Heavy Rock with female vocals, you can't really go wrong with the music that is available on "Moonshine".
