This stoner rock trio from the country of Italy have been together since 2022 so they are still relatively a new band on the scene, which brings together CHRISTIAN SPOLAORE whose their vocalist/lead guitarist, bassist EMANUELE PEREGO and on drums is MATTEO VIGNOCCHI. Together they formed the band known as STONE FIST, as they came up from their early days as a band in 2022, playing several gigs in the underground scene in their native country and then the following year in 2023, they released a music video for their single CRAZY SURGEON. The year after in 2024, they were set to play during the MAXIMUM FESTIVAL in their home country of Italy where they opened for another stoner rock band called BONGZILLA so a great opportunity for STONE FIST.

So despite this, the band have been in the process of songwriting throughout their time together and now they are ready to have their own songs released in the form of what is their self-titled EP. This compiles a total of six songs including the song they already released a music video for, as well as five other tracks, let's go into the EP to see what it is all about as it can be said that it mixes up stoner rock, grunge and some other genres. The first track is “Nightmare Blues” as we hear processed bass guitar and drums playing the opening intro to this EP, but then there is a sharp crescendo as lead guitar takes charge of this transition. Vocals come in too, as they are ready to go with some rhythmic lyrics, as lead guitar and drums carry on with the stoner rock and grunge alternative sound.

Drums do well to become creative and soloistic, as vocals come back to set an example but drums do venture on some solo patterns in between vocals doing their thing. Lead guitar sets the mark for drums to go loose off the leash to become wild and punch those low end drum hits. Back to vocals as they drive the band through more eccentric and craziness before we come to the next track which is “Showbiz Bitch” as we have loud cymbal hits, lead guitar riffs as well as warm bass tones. Vocals join in as we hear mixed patterns from drums, lead guitar and bass guitar, a more straight-forward pattern from drums, as well as filler fills by the drummer.

Lead guitar strumming away, they are not too loud, as we come to an instrumental section led by bass guitar, drums in support and lead guitar picking some miscellaneous notes giving some grunge vibes. Lead guitar swoops back in for some drum fillers being played also before the vocals return once more, even the finishing section of this track by drums and lead guitar is stupendous. “Crazy Surgeon” as we hear some low end thumping on drums with lead guitar as well as vocals straight off the bat, this certainly has a different feel to it, as the pitch of the lead guitar varies, then drums set up a solo instrumental section once again. Drums really slow down and lead guitar follows along, drums play some tasty patterns and fills as guitar rings out for the faster tempo comes back.

So a  quick enough track as these tracks are kept short and sweet, so into the next track which is “Space Trip” as we hear mellow lead guitar playing a very grunge tone and theme at first, by itself, for the first minute at most. Vocals come in as guitar pushes back, as vocals come through so clearly before a short crescendo by drums, the all hell breaks loose as the full band are in full volume, a slightly different rhythm but at a steady tempo. A quieter section comes which is a repeat of the intro without vocals at first, then vocals do come in as guitars pull back, drums continue on in the background with some cymbal patterns to create a lighter sound, before guitars encourage drums and bass guitar to go loud again.

Drums give a crispy sound, with the mid range and low ends of the band's tone, then guitar comes again as a solo to finish this track, giving all the high end notes, so the next track which is “Pornstar” begins with bass guitar giving it socks for a short time. Then the full band comes in as we hear smooth drum patterns with cymbal hits also, vocals also joining in as we hear a straight forward rock ‘n’ roll track full of energy. Vocals and lead guitar take command of the narrative, as we hear some tasty drums and guitar breakdowns at the end of this track, going into the final track which is “Metal Zombie”. Bass guitar and low end thumping drums come first setting the course of direction for the lead guitar as well as vocals to join in.

Going out with a bang this band really has the cool rock ‘n’ roll swagger in their sound, perhaps a mix of grunge, hard rock and sludge rock too. Halfway through this last track, comes an instrumental section, after vocals bow out for a short time, when bass guitar and lead guitar keep the track going with drums supporting on a different rhythm with extra snares to stand out. Vocals return, so a lot of creativity has been made on this EP, the objective has certainly been completed here by the band, I do like their sound, so do give these guys a follow, they are simply here to stay. Looking forward to hearing more.
