To deal with Brutal Death Metal musical expressions takes a lot of patience for the listeners, because it’s a hard Metal subgenre to deal with its extreme approach. The slow tempos and low tunes used on the death growls can disturb even the fans of Death Metal, and it’s the idea that seems to drive DISSONANT SEEPAGE’s music, as heard on “Dystopian Putrescence”. Recorded, mixed and mastered at Atrium Audio, the sonority - as expected - is abrasive, aggressive and privileges the brutal and distorted aspects of the genre, but with a very good dose of definition (for the sake of the fans’ understanding of what’s being played). And what great artwork of Pär Olofsson, indeed.

As written above, the band uses a low approach on Brutal Death Metal that brings the music to the limits of extremity. One can hear influences inherited from MORBID ANGEL on “Covenant” days (especially on the guitars) and CANNIBAL CORPSE on the days that Chris Barnes was its singer. But on the band’s music, something is absent: that something that makes your music one in a million. The music of the band it’s not bad and will be tasteful for the fans of the genre, but only for them. It's obvious that the fans of the genre will love what is shown on “Ancient Pestilence Reborn”, “Immortal Until Decay”, “Constructing Flesh into Shit”, “Rotting Monument”, “Gargling Nails”, “Optimize Extinction”, “Dead Carcass to Worship” and “Dystopian Putrescence”, because the band uses good instrumental approach and fine vocals for Brutal Death Metal, but’s not enough for higher flights by now.

DISSONANT SEEPAGE isn’t a bad band, but needs to sharp its efforts. For now, “Dystopian Putrescence” is just a release for Brutal Death Metal fans, and nothing more.
