A new band, coming with a bang. From the deepest confines of hell, seems to emanate this murmur of darkness, evil and unyielding vile atmosphere. Suffocating and oppressive; BALEFIRE’s eponymous debut EP is surely a statement of what’s to come. A strong stench of black metal, seasoned with typical death metal elements, reigns supreme throughout the album, making it continuously interesting and catchy.  BALEFIRE's self-titled EP delivers a relentless onslaught of blackened death metal that leaves a mark on the extreme metal landscape. Clocking in at a concise 15 minutes, this six-track offering wastes no time in immersing the listener in malevolent energy.

The EP opens with "Black Sun", a brief intro that sets the stage for the chaos to follow. "Sands of Gemini" erupts with blistering speed and guttural vocals, showcasing the band's proficiency in crafting riffs that are both brutal and memorable. The track's relentless pace is complemented by precise drumming and an atmosphere thick with darkness. The accurately titled "Barbaric Rebirth" stands as a testament to the band's unyielding aggression. This track is a headbanger's delight, with its pummeling rhythms and savage riffs driving forward with unrelenting force. The raw energy is palpable, capturing the essence of old-school death metal while infusing it with a modern ferocity.

The EP concludes with "Black Moon", an outro that mirrors the introductory track, ending the experience with ominous finality. BALEFIRE's debut is a formidable entry into the realm of extreme metal. The production has somewhat of an old-school quality that enhances the overall malevolence without sacrificing clarity. While the EP's brevity leaves the listener craving more, it also ensures that there is no filler; only pure, unadulterated brutality. In this initial offering, BALEFIRE has crafted a work that is both a nod to the forebears of blackened death metal and a statement of their own identity.
