Knogjärn

My only piece of constructive criticism relates to the lengthy number of songs on the album, and because much the album has a similar sound, some of the tracks blend together a bit. But this was an honest, hard-rocking album that takes no prisoner. You all get the gallows!

From Bandcamp, “Swedish KNOGJARN (Eng: Knuckle-duster) is the in-your-face kind of Hard Rock, kicking ass from the very start. This is music that makes you want to crack open a beer, turn the volume to eleven and rock ‘til you fucking drop. Their studio records portray a band that always give 100% and they deliver even more on stage; “We want you to like our live performance even if you don´t like our music.” The album has twelve songs, and “Sluta tro” is first. From the opening notes, you know this is going to be a party, as well as the kind of one where you will come out injured and bloody afterwards. The vocals are a cross between fry and shouts, and the music is simple, but very sturdy, and crushing.

“Farval” is another heavy rocking song, and these guys seem to be firing on all cylinders. The chorus has some catchy elements, and the music borders on a cross between Metalcore and Hard Rock. “Bara gör det” is another burner. Although slower, the tones fill in the cracks and create a sturdy and unbreakable bass, while the vocals cadence over top. I would call this a mid-tempo rocker. “Ingen Kommer in” is a shorter song that packs in about as much as they possibly can manage. Again, the riffs are simple, but you can hear how this might translate to a live performance. “Min stad” has twisted harsh vocals that are delivered with an attitude, and a hard driving beat underneath.

“Inget lever lange har” begins with some nice guitar harmonies, but descends pretty quickly into the maelstrom again of heavy, crushing tones, with clean vocals in the chorus. “Rädd för dig” has a very heavy structure, from a catchy riff and vocals that swing with attitude, and the melodies in the chorus help to temper some of the destruction. “Tror du vill brinna” represents a nearly impossible pace of more than ten songs that burn with intensity, and leave a trail of smoke behind in their wake. “Kärleken Väntar” closes the album, and it closes with a swing of groove. Dare I say that this song also has some positive qualities to the sugary melodies, something that the album doesn’t have a lot of.
