From Bandcamp, "Black Flame of Unholy Tradition,” a new EP that was written and recorded during the summer of 2024 and must be considered a prelude to the first NOIRSUAIRE album. "Black Flame of Unholy Tradition" is dedicated to the memory of P.K from ABIGOR and hails the ones keeping it burning bright.” The album has five songs, and “Enthroned Soreption” is first; a short instruction, leading to the title track. The deep Black Metal screams and awful production tell me this is FWOBM influenced, and beyond that, there is not much else going on. “With Talons Sharp and Cruel” has some solemn tones mixed in with the unadulterated aggression, and the sharp, high-pitched vocals remain the focal point of the music. You can also pick up on some amateur sounds, and I hate to say this, but it reminds me of something I recorded in my basement on a four-track.
“Submit to Pestilence” is another song where you can hear the overly treble production, and besides the wall of guitars and vocal screams, it doesn’t offer anything new in the genre. “Those Once Revered” closes the (essentially) four-track album. It’s another song where the band steps on the gas and doesn’t let up. Overall, this was one of the bad Black Metal albums this year that I have heard this year. Production aside, and it was horrible, the four songs all had a similar quality to them, and they offered nothing new or original to the genre. Unless you are a purist who likes to hear the FWOBM sound in your music, I challenge you to find anything nicer to say about the album.
