Diablesse Of Revolution
Whisky Of Blood
Another band from France (to be precise, Grenoble) that is producing USA orientated music. WHISKY OF BLOOD was formed in 2012 and plays Redneck Rock in all its facets. They have that Southern USA sound down to a T. On “Diablesse Of Revolution”, their third album to date, they are giving us three quartes of an hour of simple Hard Rock, Heavy Boogie & Melodic Metal, all mixed and intertwined. And like I mentioned, it all has a very high Redneck feel and atmosphere. As far as i'm concerned, I don't see a problem with that, as long as it is done properly.
That, my friends, is not a problem either, as WHISKY OF BLOOD writes and plays simple and straight forward music without any difficult or elaborate parts. This is like an arrow. And I have to say and concede that “Diablesse Of Revolution” is full of very pleasant songs that will make your life just that much easier than it was. It will make you forget your surroundings, as the musicians all know how to make good music. As the cherry on top you have singer Lord Whisky, who has just the right voice for the music that is being played on “Diablesse Of Revolution”. He has a warm timbre, and whether he sings in a low voice or high, softly or intense, he makes it all sound so good that you would think that it is just that easy.
But I do have to mention my pet hate again. Because, however good his voice his, when this French dude is singing in English, his pronuinciation as well as his emphasising is a bit off from time to time. I would have loved to hear WHISKY OF BLOOD play all oif this while he is singing in hisd native tongue. I bet you that it would have really impresssed me. And although I said he has a brilliant voice that suits the music on “Diablesse Of Revolution”, now I feel he is letting the album as a whole down. Which is a pity. But, if you are looking for a simnple but effective Rock album with a nice variety of songs which will give you a load of enjoyment, go ahead and try “Diablesse Of Revolution”. I have a feeling that you might like WHISKY OF BLOOD. As long as you're not expecting to hear anything new, you're safe. This is old fashioned Redneck Rock. From France.
