Opium EP
Half Me
Half Me are a five piece band from Hamburg Germany. Formed in October 2018 after the demise of some other local bands. Musically Half Me are a modern metal and hardcore band, drawing influence from 90's Nu Metal which all blend together to make that distinctive Half Me sound. Having self produced their first four singles and videos which displayed the bands intensive and energetic demeanour the band have made an impact on the music scene, It was the bands fourth single “Exit Wounds” featuring Jack Bergin of Void Of Vision) which got the band noticed ,getting them a breakthrough, landing the band in the spotlight of Knotfest's “Countdown To Oblivion” .The band signing to Arising Empire releasing their debut album “Soma” in 2023.
“Clean Slate” the opening track is a short track heavy drums ,heavy guitars ,with aggressive snarling vocals which set the tone for this EP. ”Quitter Talk” is a full on heavy metal assault consisting of guitars, drums ,bass which is the perfect mosh pit festival track or that small sweaty metal underground venue ,growling vocals with the occasional more melodic breaks. ”Nothing To The Lose But The Chai” catches the perfect balance of different vocal styles which make you think the track is mellowing ,but then switching full circle picking up the momentum with raw energy and aggression both musically and vocally. ”Fatalist 3.0” is again fast, brutal, full of aggression and energy, which will bring mosh pit mayhem, where you may not come away unscathed.”In Denial” is the last track of this EP where Half Me throw every ounce of their being & energy into with high intensity vocally & musically which takes no prisoners along the way with .
Half Me “Opium EP” was definitely an eye opener for me musically. Personally this is not the type of thing that I listen to, but if you like your music that's fast paced lots of energy really heavy ,guitars with heavy melodies with aggressive vocals, then this would be right up your street, A definite recommendation for all who love being in that mosh pit or circle of death at festivals,
