Waking Nightmares of an Endless Void
Intolerance
INTOLERANCE is a Spanish Death Metal band hailing from the city of Zaragoza. They released their second full-length album, “Waking Nightmares of an Endless Void”, on Jully 22, 2024. This is a band who stayed true to the roots of earlier Death Metal styles throughout in a straightforward, no-nonsense kind of way. This new band has a great start into the world of music with a solid production like this one. I would recommend checking these guys out, they are worth a listen. “Towards Perdition” - This is an intro song coming in at just over a minute in length, however it is a strong beginning to the album. It is a nuanced sound with touches of Industrialism in it, leaving you with a mounting sense of anticipation for what is to come next. “The Dark Forest” - We are met by rich and robust musical notes, wild and passionate. Followed by a scathing vocal, Death Metal, roar. The lyrical prowess evident within the lyrical content as well as the musical parts. A screaming guitar melody carries us swiftly along, never leaving you a second to catch your thoughts.
“Hand of Glory” - The guitar in this song is very masterful adding a artful depth to the song as a whole. The lyrics a dark poetic raging mass, lifts you and holds you a prisoner. Like some demon of the night gripping, you with its clawed fingers whose grasp you have no hope of escaping. “Melting Skies” - A song name that brings to mind many things, not limited to the way a sunset looks like melting flames in the sky. This intense song is a strong finish for a great album. Consistent in its Death Metal style, raging vocals, and loud guitar; this song is like a warm blanket for an old Metalhead. The comfort of home, the familiarity of a place I have been many times before. In conclusion, “Waking Nightmares of an Endless Void” is a solid second album release from INTOLERANCE. These Spanish Metalers have a passion for loud music and it shows in the best kind of way. This is an album that would appeal to many, but very specially this is an album that many older Metalheads can get behind in its familiarity
