With MAERZFELD we would like to welcome a new member to the Metalville family.

The new single "Lange Nicht" will be released on 21.04.22 - the tour of the same name will start on 05 May.

Stylistically, the band can be classified as "Neue Deutsche Härte".

Since their formation in 2009, the band from Nuremberg has continuously conquered a steadily growing fan base.

The band's name is derived from the March Field, which served as an army assembly point under the Merovingians. The name is also meant to symbolise a field that has to be worked and tended every year in March. The band sees this as a metaphor for life, in which one can only achieve one's goals through effort and work.

Singer Heli wanted to set some of his lyrics, which were lying in a drawer, to music. This is how the idea for Maerzfeld came about in October 2009 and is realised shortly afterwards with the musicians Matthias Sitzmann (guitar),Thilo Weber (keyboards), Thomas Buchberger (drums), Roland Hagen (guitar) and Samir Elflein (bass).

In March 2011, the band released their first 3 songs as a maxisingle, followed by the debut album "Tief" in November of the same year, which earned high praise from fans and critics. The single "La petite mort" climbs directly into the German Alternative Charts at number 7 in 2013.

The albums "Fremdkörper" (2013), "Ungleich" (2017) and "Zorn" (2019) follow, all of which are also very well received.

After various line-ups, MAERZFELD now consists of Heli Reißenweber (vocals), Mike Sitzmann (guitar), Jochen Windisch (guitar), Ron Huber (piano/keys) and Michael Frischbier (drums). The musicians are currently working on new songs for the 5th studio album.

Already on 21.04. the first single "Lange Nicht" will be released by the band's new label, Metalville Records. The song is also the title of the tour of the same name, which starts on 05 May. Various festival appearances will follow in the summer, before the band will embark on a big European tour together with "Eisbrecher" in April 2023.
