WILLIE AND THE GOODSOULS: Present their Third Album.
January 9, 2020
"Universal hit", stated producer Hannu Leidén during the production of 'Future', the first single of the third album by the Finnish soul rockers. It was not better before. Maybe sometimes our future is just late.
Watch a video by Slade Takala-Lamey on YouTube, listen to the song on music services or download as a package for editorial use. After hearing the main melody by guitar wizard Ville Vesalainen producer Leidén visioned that the song could be arranged quite like J.Geils Band's Centerfold. The idea was carried out by The Goodsouls keyboardist Tuomas Riihimäki on melodica and Petra Wahlsten on violin, with Jukka Lehto's bass and Jussi Vuola's drumming in a relaxed and onward rhythm. A live trademark, the band's quadruple acapella became the start of the album's first single, Future.
[MA GDPR YouTube] Invalid video id.Rock and this band have also always given us a good feeling and if a good-feeling rock song is not hopeful in its final notes and message then wtf? The band and production's Hannu Leiden and Eero Kaukomies created the best possible conditions for the story, culminating in Jaakko Viitalähde's master.
When it comes to tuning into your own music, after a bit of distance one hears that this might not have happened without significant amounts of Sam Cooke and the Rolling Stones. Well, a yellow tele swinging by the big stuff with big chords and a hopeful clang has always been a very expressive channel.
Our music is born out of the fact that we feel good playing together, and it merrily was captured in this awesome video produced by our englishman Slade Takala-Lamey as well.
-Ville Vesalainen
