The album review here will be faster than the speed of light. The Juliana Theory play music significantly different from the 'spirit' of this webzine, hence I don't think there's any reason to focus on Deadbeat Sweetheartbeat for more than the following paragraph.
American Rockers The Juliana Theory come from Latrobe, PA and have already released three albums, prior to Deadbeat Sweetheartbeat in their 9-year career. Flirting with the post-Grunge U.S. New-Rock sound (Placebo etc) they've delivered some successful music for the national charts (2003's Love sold 100,000 pieces in the U.S. alone). Their style should not be described as 'emo', while there's a straightforward guitar filling in most tunes. Melancholy a la H.I.M. - not that mellow, of course - is behind the vocal lines and - last but not least - a pop attitude is obvious in tunes such as e.g. Leave Like A Ghost (Drive Away) which could be a major Cranberries hit with female vox.
