Waxen - High Plains Bloodlust
June 18, 2025
I have to conclude that as far as I’m concerned, I really can’t fault WAXEN at all musically, and I think that “High Plains Bloodlust” will appeal to a lot of other musicians alike. It will also be something for those who like their Black Metal not to be too extreme, as you will get the Heavy Metal and Melodic vibes radiating from some of the guitar parts.

Antipope – Doors of the Dead
October 2, 2024
This was a good album that paid homage at times to the mighty IRON MAIDEN, and if there is ever a band to pattern yourself after, that it is. ANTIPOPE also worked in their own sounds, and refused to be pigeon-holed into one genre.

Deathwytch – Death Wytch (Reissue)
June 13, 2024
The lingering question that I have is that taken as a whole the album is disjointed, and disconnected. I have to wonder, is this on purpose? I think it is, and although it had some good frightening sounds as Black Metal should, it was too amateur in the end.

Hrizg – Damnatio Memoriae
April 30, 2024
Although much of the sound is thick and harrowing, it is also too repetitive, which is my number one complaint on albums. The band isn’t without talent, but they have to offer more diversity in their music.

Luciferian Rites – Oath of Midnight Ashes
March 21, 2024
Overall, besides being an album that just travels forward at the speed of light without relenting anything along the way, it was too one-dimensional and repetitive for me. It’s a shame too, because the band has talent, but it is buried.

Toby Knapp - Transmission to Purgatory
March 4, 2024
I do hope that TOBY KNAPP has gotten his ego trip out of his system with “Transmission to Purgatory”, because he can write good songs. Some of them are on this record.

Lightcrusher – Constructed Stars of Mortared Bone (Reissue)
November 21, 2023
it is not winning any awards for musicianship or songwriting. The band has some talent, and this was obviously an early effort, where the amateur qualities come through strongest.

Carnal Savagery – Grotesque Macabre (Reissue)
November 17, 2023
CARNAL SAVAGERY's first album, “Grotesque Macabre,” has been woefully hard to obtain. Moribund Records is changing that.

Drawn and Quartered – Return of the Black Death (reissue)
November 17, 2023
Altogether “Return of the Black Death” holds up remarkably well, sounding as brutal and relevant today as it was almost 20 years ago.
