Defecto - Echoes Of Isolation
January 25, 2026
I do feel that the music that DEFECTO plays on “Echoes Of Isolation” has all the hallmarks of a band that is letting loose, giving it their all. I therefore have to admit that for the first time in 2026, I am smitten. What a brilliant treat this is.
review
Starlight Ritual - Rogue Angels
January 25, 2026
The vocals have surprised me. At times Damian Ritual sounds a lot like the late Paul Di’Anno, mainly due to him having the same kind of vibrato, but also because on some songs the vocal lines sound as if they could have straight out the deceased frontman’s pen. But when he goes shrill and high he has a bit of Dave Mustaine in his voice as well.

Usurper - Divine Spiritual and Intellectual Development (and all demos)
January 25, 2026
I actually have the original CD of the USURPER album “Divine Spiritual and Intellectual Development” in my possession. What we have here is the Dutch Thrash Metal version of USURPER, a band that was very active in the second half of the eighties up and until the early nineties.
review
Rozario - Northern Crusaders
January 19, 2026
The sound that ROZARIO brings to the table is very interesting The musical genre might be Heavy/Power Metal, the sound they use can easily be seen as contemporary, but it also has one foot very clearly in the eighties.
review
Vitamin X - Ride The Apocalypse
January 19, 2026
As the songs on “Ride The Apocalypse” are rather short, you might assume that they are lacking a good start, a solid body and a proper ending. Well, think again. VITAMIN X doesn’t only know how to give you a good time, they also have mastered the writing of good songs that have something to say in the short time they last.
review
Wreck-Defy - Dissecting The Leech
January 19, 2026
WRECK-DEFY sounds an awful lot like an unleashed version of OVERKILL, with the addition of some “Slave To The Grind” era SKID ROW. Let that sink in for a moment.
review
Obelisk - Brushed By Darkness
January 18, 2026
Musically OBELISK are a bit of Electronic Rock mixed with Alternative Music and sometimes Industrial Metal. Let me warn you; “Brushed By Darkness” definitely is not a typical Metal album. OBELISK does require you to cast your net a whole lot wider.
review
Dymytry Paradox - Born From Chaos
January 18, 2026
What is immediate is the feeling that even though this might be a debut album for DYMYTRY PARADOX, these are definitely not newbies at playing this kind of music. This is intense, this is energetic, this is enticing.
review
Death Dealer - Reign Of Steel
January 18, 2026
As far as DEATH DEALER's music is concerned, you can compare “Reign Of Steel” to anything you might hear from THE THREE TREMORS in comparison to any other band the members are active in. This is very Heavy Power Metal with a lot of over the top vocals complementing the rather busy, utterly impressive and quite intense and intricate guitar playing by the two outstanding guitarists.

Assignment - With The End Comes Silence
January 18, 2026
Musically this is sandwiched between some subtle Melodic Metal and pure unadulterated Heavy Metal. You will hear the band bouncing from one to another and back with great ease, giving the music on “With The End Comes Silence” a versatility that avoids you getting bored in that respect.
review
Redivider - Sounds Of Malice
January 12, 2026
As this is as Death Metal as music can get, the emphasis can now shift unto how and what REDIVIDER are bringing on “Sounds Of Malice”. Well, let me start by saying that the production of this album is without fault. It is hard, it is Heavy, but it also is transparent and very clear, making sure that you are able to hear what the band wants you to hear.
review
Adetar - Sinister Resurrection of the Morbid
January 12, 2026
Bloody Hell, this does take me back some years, or should I say eons? I remember ADETAR from the early nineties, as they hail from ENSCHEDE in my home country, and I not only saw them live, I also booked them at our youth centre at the time.
review
Drowned In Silver - Mothers
January 11, 2026
I have to say is that although this goes way beyond that which I’m used to listening, I found myself being utterly intrigued and, in this case, even mesmerised by what I hear on “Mothers”. Even though the songs are quite lengthy, DROWNED IN SILVER never gives you the feeling that they are too long.
review
Harmozel - Songs Of The Hungry Ghosts
January 11, 2026
HARMOZEL doesn’t have a record deal, so the thing to do is to self-release the debut album “Songs Of The Hungry Ghosts”. And what is very clear from the start is yes, this is Doom Metal. There is no way you can confuse this for anything else.
review
Hounds - Rise Of The Immortals
January 11, 2026
HOUNDS are an Italian Heavy/US Power Metal band born in 2016. Their music is mainly inspired by the great masters of Heavy Metal and 80s US Power Metal, including JUDAS PRIEST, SAVATAGE and VIRGIN STEELE. Well, if that doesn’t sound promising, I don’t know what does.
review
Old Night - Mediterranean Melancholy
January 11, 2026
The songs are clearly written and recorded by a band that has been together for quite some time. Everything on “Mediterranean Melancholy” is rather lengthy, but not once are you wondering when the song is going to end. There are no boring pieces, you will hear no fillers being used by OLD NIGHT, be it short or long.
review
D'Ercole - Reactance Theory
January 8, 2026
Listening to “Reactance Theory” is also making me a very happy Rocker because the songs all have that little bit of class that you expect from a band that has been going for some 15 years, making it even more remarkable that they have been able to produce 11 albums, including this one.
review
Skull & Crossbones - Time
January 8, 2026
Opening tune “Echoes of Eternity” goes from 0 to 100 mph in just a few seconds. And let me tell you, if this song doesn’t do it for you, just ignore the rest of the album.
review
HyperioN - Cybergenesis
January 7, 2026
HYPERION isn’t the next band to take over the world, but they are a band that has the ability to please and entertain a lot of (mostly) old fashioned Metal fans with the music they have provided us with on “Cybergenesis”. And because they have been able to provide the record with a very clear, transparent, but above all contemporary sound, a lot of the young Metal afficionados might be quite willing to not only give this a go, but also their sign of approval.
review
Urne – Setting Fire To The Sky
January 7, 2026
On “Setting Fire To The Sky” URNE demonstrates that they are able to show different sides of themselves, whilst the sound and foundation available will convince you that you still are listening to the same band. What makes this an even listening experience is that all the songs bring a lot of quality to the turntable, making it very easy to like and/or admire this album.
review
Pagan Altar - Lords of Hypocrisy (Reissue)
January 5, 2026
PAGAN ALTAR might not have conquered the world with this album, I do believe that, judging by what I am hearing on “Lords of Hypocrisy”, they did and do deserve a whole lot more credit than they have had throughout their career. And in that respect, you have to applaud Dying Victims Productions for pushing the boat out by airing this album for a second time.
review
Teutonic Slaughter - Cheap Food
January 5, 2026
TEUTONIC SLAUGHTER is able to translate their thoughts into bloody impressive songs that have that bit of an edge to them, you just can’t help but enjoy all 36 minutes that they are making a lot of noise.
review
Spriggan Mist - The Glare
January 5, 2026
According to the information sheet that comes with the music SPRIGGAN MIST is a band from Bracknell in the UK that plays Progressive Rock/Folk. If you then open the homepage of the band, you will see that they categorise themselves as a Pagan Folk Rock band. Well, let me put your mind at ease, they are both right.
review
Defaced - Icon
January 5, 2026
I really like what I hear, as this is not the kind of straight forward Death Metal that just goes without nuances. Nope, if anything DEFACED loves using different influences in their music.
review
Jim Peterik & World Stage - River Of Music: The Power Of Duets - Vol. 1
January 5, 2026
What JIM PETERIK has done right is couple the right singer to his person, making all the songs sound nice from start to finish. And as usual in these genres, the musicians all have that quality that makes sure that the instrumental side of things is above reproach, that it can’t be faulted.
review
Brazen Abbot – Guilty As Sin (Reissue)
January 5, 2026
One thing that you can be sure of with BRAZEN ABBOT is that the songs that you will listen to are not only very well put together, properly written with a good and solid structure, but also with some good bones. Most important of all, I believe that band leader Nikolo Kotzev has chosen wisely when he was deciding who was going to sing which song.
review
Bastard Skull – Bastard Skull
December 30, 2025
BASTARD SKULL hails from New Jersey in the USA and have just released their debut album “Bastard Skull” at the beginning of 2025. They did that on their own accord. Now, at the end of that same year the label WormHoleDeath has picked them up and has decided that a rerelease through them is in order. And in order to add to the pleasure of the music the label decided that the addition of the EP “More Dread” that came after the album was more than justified.
review
Ptolemea – Kali
December 30, 2025
What I have hear with “Kali” is the second album of this Alternative Rock band, the debut being “Balanced Darkness” from 2023. I haven’t heard that one, but I have a feeling that is about to change, as to me what PTOLEMEA brings on “Kali” is nothing less than interesting, and at times even bloody good.
review
Stargazery - Carnival Puppeteers
December 30, 2025
I think there are enough people around to really appreciate what STARGAZERY plays in the 53 minutes that make “Carnival Puppeteers”. Oh, and look out for the two covers, from DIO and DEF LEPPARD. they are quite alright...
review
Urban Dream - Human Eclipse
December 30, 2025
What URBAN DREAM does is make it very hard for a promotor to do their job properly, as how do you market a band that intertwines Industrial Metal, Gothic Rock, Alternative and Pop-Rock influences into everything they do.
review
Sabaton - Legends
December 21, 2025
There is not one wrong note on this album. All the songs are well balanced, very easy for the ears and most of all, of a very high quality. I can only applaud what I hear on “Legends”, as SABATON have once again given you a completely finished product that is ready to be admired.
review
N.Y.C. - Built To Destroy
December 21, 2025
It is clear for me that N.Y.C. comes over a lot stronger, makes a lot better impression when they play loud and straight ahead. That’s when the class and their experience shows itself, when they really have an impact with “Built To Destroy”.
review
Treat - The Wild Card
December 18, 2025
The songs themselves are simple and straight forward, they just come to the point. If you are looking for intricate structures, for different sorts of breaks and/or all kinds of variety in a song, forget it. If you want all those ingredients throughout the record, you are in for a TREAT, as “The Wild Card” has all that in spades.
review
Zero Tolerance - A Test Of Strength
December 18, 2025
A Test Of Strength” is a solid, decent but also extremely entertaining album. I doubt that ZERO TOLERANCE will achieve world dominance with this album but I am sure that they are going to gain a lot of praise from a lot of Thrash and Heavy Metal fans.
review
Sacrifice – Tears
December 16, 2025
If you ask me, this Japanese version of SACRIFICE should have been at least as big worldwide as the Canadian Thrash Metal band with the same name. There can’t be any doubt at all that these guys were capable of writing and recording bloody good music. On “Tears” that gives us over 44 minutes of beautiful Heavy Metal.
review
Paragon - Heed The Prophecy (Reissue)
December 16, 2025
PARAGON is an American band from Springfield in Ohio. These guys only existed from 1987 until 1992/1993, of that no one is exactly sure. In those times they played pure Melodic Progressive US Metal. Apparently, they wanted to sound like some of the big US Progressive Metal bands.
