interview
Chris Appleton - (Absolva)
March 7, 2022
It is good that even when push comes to shove, and things aren't looking bright, but rather dark and grim, there is a hope after all. To make the best out of hope, that is psychology rather than skill. It starts with determination rather than ability. The British Metal band Absolva, has always been a beast on the road, and it means a lot on the road. Whether as Absolva, or as a touring band for Blaze Bayley. The pandemic didn't really scratch the band's spirit in any way, they made the best of it, piled up their motivation and were able to make two records. The new one in question, "Fire In The Sky", was just out the door. Steinmetal had a great talk with the band's vocalist / guitarist, Chris Appleton, about the experience of the pandemic, the album and general feeling of being out there again
interview
Davon Van Dave & Eduarda Soeiro - (Glasya)
March 7, 2022
The ones who fight for the right thing, for the sake of those that will continue their path in the future, a form of sacrifice that unquestionable. The message doesn't have to suit fathers, or sons, it can relate to anyone out there that has that special someone that cares for him / her. If there is the willing to fight for that person, that is something. Listening to the sophomore production of the Portuguese Glasya has it to make one understand the importance of being there for others, to be their shield if need, put loved one's lives first. Shipping out their adventurous creation to date, "Attarghan", there is a story to tell, and a deep peak into how cinematics influenced Metal music. Steinmetal had a good talk with Keyboardist Davon Van Dave, and vocalist Eduarda Soeiro, about this rather huge step taken by the band, and its outcome.

interview
Frank Prilipp - (Powertryp)
March 7, 2022
It is like being shot back, by a cannon, to the golden years of Metal, where it was celebrated by so many around the world. Tuning up to the newcomer German Heavy Metal band, Powertryp, it was a sight, or signal, for sore ears, hard to comprehend that it wasn't 1985 anymore. Releasing their debut album, "Midnight Marauder", old school Metal surely received a fine boost to its revival process, and one would have to guess who took care of the sound. Steinmetal had a good talk with the band's bass player, Frank Prilipp, about how it was all done and what makes it special.

interview
Melynda Jackson - (Eight Bells)
March 4, 2022
Feeling lost in a world that has already bound itself in the same sense, beyond saving kind. To find motivation to actually live a life to their fullest, now that is tough for who believe that there is nothing good waiting for us at the far end of the tunnel. It is understandable, life hasn't been easy on Earth in the last 10 years, changes haven't always been to our favor, and that is to be considered a mild saying. Melynda Jackson, with her band Eight Bells, created a new chapter with "Legacy Of Ruin", where the anguish and dismay from this world come a live, and in the extreme. Steinmetal had to find out more about Jackson's perspective of life at present, and in light of the album
interview
ARÐ - (Mark Deeks)
March 4, 2022
When not looking into the common taught history, but rather sinking deep into lesser known chapters of one's heritage, there is a sense of exploration, to find out more. Metal music has been an integral part of how to profoundly emphasize most of mankind's early natures and rougher attitudes. Needless to say that the heavier form of music captures the dramatic flavors of history with a convincing manner. Focusing on English history, Winterfylleth's Mark Deeks created ARÐ, swimming in Doom Metal, exploring individuals that aren't of common knowledge. Steinmetal had a chance to talk with Mark about the band's new album, "Take Up My Bones", its essence, musical journey and more…

interview
Andreas Glanz - (Re-Machined)
March 1, 2022
Hard to the crew, never letting go of the roots, being straight to the point, without anything that is unnecessary to add, because if it works, it works. Simplicity has never been a bad word in music, and in Rock and Metal it generated a whole lot of power. Letting the fans sing the songs, air guitar the riffs and simply having the moment, stand up and be counted. The veteran bunch of Re-Machined never tried to be more than they are, they portray their German essence as humble but with class. With their new album "Brain Dead" out there, Steinmetal had a good chat with songwriter and guitarist, Andreas Glanz, about the album, the period and more…
interview
Matt Hanchunk & Søren Adamsen - (Gutter Creek)
March 1, 2022
Simply a trio of guys coming to work together, all in the name of heavy music, and past influences that matter to the context. Essentially, it is also, perhaps mainly a matter of what feels inside. The passion to recreate the past but with an embodiment of the future. When Wreck-Defy's Matt Hanchunk, and his buddy Derrick Kroll, form Gutter Creek, they decided that there is a need for a top class vocalist, ex-Artillery's Søren Adamsen became the leading candidate. Adamsen himself was equally passionate upon invitation, and no doubt that he proved himself right in the band's self-titled debut, "Gutter Creek". Steinmetal had Matt and Søren sit down and talk about the basics behind the idea of the band, the newly released album and of course what the future holds
