Bodybuilder – There’s No There, There
November 17, 2024
All of the elements mentioned in the press release are true about what you will find on the album. It is indeed a harrowing journey to doors or terror and pain that you shut away years ago in your mind. Now, they are reopened once again.

Tungsten – The Grand Inferno
November 15, 2024
One of the finer points of the album is indeed the band’s ability to shift gears through a few different genres of Metal. They are all accomplished musicians, as well as an outstanding vocalist. The album has staying power as well. The songs are polished clean, and memorable.

Misanthropic Aggression – Insect Politics
November 12, 2024
I really enjoyed this album. It has a dank and dark quality to it that, combined with its innate energy, just got me up on my feet and made me feel like breaking things, as many thing as I could find. Strangely, I also wanted a shower after listening to it, it was that dirty.

Brothers Of Metal – Fimbulvinter
November 12, 2024
This is the Melodic Viking version of MANOWAR and SABATON with just about every sort of Metal thrown in when appropriate. And even though it goes over the top on a regular basis, I just can’t stop listening to this.

review
Ad Vitam Infernal - Le ballet des anges
November 6, 2024
AD VITAM INFERNAL
'S "
Le ballet des anges
," is a crushing album in many ways with a lot more dynamics and degrees to that crush than a lot of other bands in this style can pull off. This is a year end banger that makes a strong case for how great of a state death metal is in near 2024's demise.
review
Mandroid of Krypton – Cosmic Sarcophagus
November 4, 2024
The band is energetic, but the vocals were the worst part for me. Gabriel doesn’t have a feel for where the melody should take him at times, and the music wasn’t much better. For me, it sounds like the band doesn’t have a firm identity, which normally, would be fine with me. In this case however, it just leaves the album in a bit of limbo if you will.

Blood Incantation – Absolute Elsewhere
October 19, 2024
The album delivers a stunning display of balance—an artful contrast of light and dark, chaos and control, both musical and existential. It masterfully balances aggression with melody, showcasing a rare ability to create harmonies that soar over deep, guttural growls and blistering guitar work, a testament to the band's technical prowess and deep understanding of composition. The pacing of the album is impeccable, transitioning seamlessly from relentless assaults to reflective, constantly in motion. With each listen, this balance becomes more profound, revealing layers of complexity and nuance that make it one of the most compelling metal releases of the year.

Dead Flesh Stigma – Necrocosmic Death Ritual
October 17, 2024
What started out partly as an ode to the forefathers of Black Metal transformed into some wider boundaries of evil and disease. The end product was quite well done, and the band was able to stretch boundaries while still holding true to the tenants that created the genre.

Apep - Before Whom Evil Trembles
October 16, 2024
Prepare your ears for destruction when hearing to this great Death Metal release!
review
Diablation – Irrévérence
October 10, 2024
Overall, this was an excellent Black Metal album that was raw, but also polished, furthering the notion that you the genre can be just as glossy as other Metal genres but still retain a hardened, contentious edge. They are excellent musicians, and have filled in the gaps with backing elements nicely.

Virgin Steele - Guardians Of The Flame (Reissue)
October 5, 2024
I have also reviewed their debut album “Virgin Steele I”, and the leap forward from that one is remarkable. Not that they have improved so much in the quality department, as that was already okay on that one, but VIRGIN STEELE has been able to filter down all the angels they were aiming for on that one and brought it down to a few.

Mork Gryning – Fasomas Tid
September 24, 2024
“Fasomas Tid” is a genre-bending album that stays in the Extreme category, effortlessly mixing the best of what that has to offer fans, but also throws in some surprises in the form of clean vocals and even some melody. The result is an album that is very well rounded.

Thrasherwolf - Inside The Sickened Mind
September 16, 2024
I am very much in awe of what I hear, and even though the band isn't breaking any new ground, they are making me enjoy the path they are following right now. And if I have anything to say about it, I would advise any record company to get off their lazy arses and sign THRASHERWOLF a.s.a.p..

Oxygen Destroyer - Guardian of the Universe
September 9, 2024
As for the kind of Death Metal they are playing. You have fast, faster and hyperspeed. Well, OXYGEN DESTROYER is set right in between the latter two. Let me rephrase that; if a band like DEATH or MORBID ANGEL would have recorded “Guardian of the Universe”, the album would have lasted some 50 minutes. Now it barely reaches 33 minutes.
