Hell Boulevard – Requiem

This was a fantastic album. It is thick with many elements, including powerful riffs, backing symphonics and electronics, and lead by the great voice of Matteo Fabbiani. There is something here for every Metalhead, whether they want juicy riffs, catchy choruses, substantial weight, or melody.

The cross between Death Metal and Progressive, groovy Djent is a combination that I haven’t heard this year. The band exudes confidence as well, and place the listener in the eye of the hurricane, where the winds whip you into a frenzy of blistering notes and eerie backing qualities.

Shadohm – Through Darkness Towards Enlightenment

In sum, the album has a lot to offer Metal fans, including deep, heavy grooves that go on for days, enough weight to beat down a woolly mammoth, and guttural vocals that could scare Chuck Norris. It’s all done with an impeccable sense of timing, and the production is stellar as well, really allowing each part to come through into a synergy that isn’t often reached.

“Sound & Fury” is actually the fifth album by DUST BOLT, the first four being “Violent Demolition” (2012), “Awake The Riot” (2014), “Mass Confusion” (2016) and “Trapped In Chaos” (2019). I can’t say I ever heard any of their earlier work, but if that is in the same vein as what they offer here, I am definitely interested.

What is the expectation I have of DEAD EARTH and this, their debut album “Et Disperdam Illud”? I really don’t know, I feel that they are not too high, as usually people don’t play all instruments as well as they think they do. In this case I can put your mind at ease, as all music is played from at least a good level up to an outstanding level.

Overall, this was an excellent album, filled with harrowing sounds, depressive sounds, and that low grind that reminds me of what it is like to work your entire life with nothing to show at the end.
