The Hermetic Way
Tzevaot
The album throws a lot your way…although it is Black Metal at its core, there are so many more elements and mediums used in the music, including piano (which he is excellent at) and a thorough understanding of how to best compose a song that is both conventional and experimental at the same time.
Nefarious Scintillations
Dead And Dripping
“Nefarious Scintillations” is an album for those who love the real stuff, the unpolished and rough around the edges Death Metal.
Krebskolonie (Reissue)
Eisregen
EISREGEN could, would and should have benefitted from an even better and more explosive sound, especially for a reissue. Now it’s just a bit too tame, almost like it has been dulled by too many blows.
Boundless
Strangers
The Melodic Rock that STRANGERS play can be classed as solid, straight forward and direct. The band just doesn’t do strange breaks, difficult passages or weird tempo changes. Nope, nothing in that direction. “Boundless” is brutally honest, very much open and completely transparent in music as well as sound, as it has a brilliant production.
The Descent of Mortals Past
Tempestuous Fall
Overall, this was a nice album to snuggle up with on a cold day, and I found the solemn tones to be oddly comforting. Elements of Doom and Death Metal combine with melody into a recipe that was just so easy to listen to.
A Frozen Moment in Time
G.A.E.A.
This is an out of the box sound, artist and album. At its core, it’s Extreme Metal with Progressive elements, but there is a lot of eclectic personality in the music as well. This album may find it hard to locate an appropriate audience. But I enjoyed it immensely.
Zerfall
Ellende
This is black metal that is fully alive with a bevy of emotions. Not just aggression and rage, although they are there, but also sadness, regret, despair, and even hope at times. The artists uses them at his will, interchanging them when the mood fits, and he makes these transitions seamlessly in his music. This emotionally charged massive bolt of lightning and energy is something that any fan of the genre simply must listen to.
The Silver Sea
Remina
There’s a strange allure on the album…a curiosity about what exists just beyond the shadows. The listener is left suspended between awe and sorrow, as if standing at the edge of existence, looking into endless darkness and realizing that even the void has its own terrible beauty. It’s an invitation to dwell in the gloom and still feel wonder at its vast, unknowable depths.
Svekkelse
Gjendød
Overall, I enjoyed the album, and call it Black Metal with a twist…a welcomed twist of some odd chord progressions and animated bass notes that you don’t often find in the genre. Come and take a peek into their world on “Svekkelse.”

The Fall of the Seven Sisters
Dunes of Ash
This is FWOBM inspired music, no doubt. The boundaries of the genre in that regard and that era are so unforgiving, bands who choose to follow the work of their forefathers wind up making an album that has been heard before, again, and again. It wasn’t bad by any stretch, it just failed to excite me much.
Sorceress
Beast Eagle
I would love to hear more of BEAST EAGLE. I sincerely would like for them to give “Sorceress” a successor that is over 40 minutes long, a full length studio album. And I would love to see and experience what these four people can produce when they play live.
Reckoning
House of Hosts
There is no denying the fact that “Reckoning” is a very powerful and interesting EP. If HOUSE OF HOSTS is capable of writing good songs in this vein in the future that are as good or even better than these ones, they should consider making a full album.
Necromancer
Night Attack
I have to admit that the opening riff of the EP and the title track “Necromancer” gets your attention right away. It has that quality that has your ears pointing towards the sound and your brain accepting the intensity and almost classic level of musicality.
Gimme Some Metal
Steelpreacher
STEELPREACHER might not set the world on fire, they are definitely set on providing us a good time with very open and easy listening Metal. And on “Gimme Some Metal” they have succeeded in doing just that. Hats off to them.
Dark Night of the Soul
After Earth
For me, the album’s fairly straightforward sound did diversify a bit towards the end, and the band showed they are not a one trick pony. Excellent musicians, their sound just needs a bit of experimentation and diversity to go from good to excellent.
Haematophoryktos
Hadopelagyal
Take a look at the length of the songs…they are nearly identical, and so is the sound. It’s unfortunate, because as I mentioned above, the genre has a lot to offer the fans. I think you can safely skip this album.
Absraction
Dysylumn
This album sounds like a collision between infernal fire and the void of deep space, where the raw, scorched essence of Black Metal meets the cold, infinite reach of the cosmos. It’s a paradox made audible: visions of Hell twisted into sound, but refracted through the lens of starlight and vacuum. It’s Black Metal that transcends its own boundaries, part ritual, part exploration, as if Hell itself has been launched into orbit. The result is both majestic and terrifying, a soundtrack to oblivion where the line between celestial beauty and absolute ruin no longer exists.

OutLaw
Newbreed
It seems as if NEWBREED re-wrote the book on how much music can be both comforting and jarring at the same time. They play with a fierce abandon…the kind that throws convention out the window along with the bathwater. Yet, each move seems calculated, amidst a sea of whatever might come their way. It’s Metal, in every sense of that word, but they aren’t afraid to bend the boundaries to the point of almost snapping. Consummate musicians, they almost seem to stroll through the album and come out clean on the other end of a maelstrom.
Vermian Death
Grave Hex
“Vermian Death” is a doom-laden offering of devastating guitar riffs, gruelling basslines, and growls coming straight out from hell
Wretched Decrepitude
Caesarean
“Wretched Decrepitude” ranges somewhere between brutal Death Metal and Hardcore. Most of the tracks are very aggressive with simple and direct guitar riffing, plenty of blast-beats, and crushing basslines
London Sessions
The Old Dead Tree
It’s somewhat difficult to get a vibe from an album through just four songs, but the emotions of the music hit me the most. For me, it was like Modern Metal with Goth leanings more than anything else, but genre labels be damned. There is just something special about French musicians, and this is a band you need to keep your eye on.
Ochre & Ash
Fauna
If I think on that album cover and I close my eyes and just let the music take me, I can smell the smoke rolling off the fire, feel the sting of the night frost, sense the ancients in the air.
Nihil Morte Certium
Nihili Locus
“Nihil Morte Certium” has been 24 years in the making. It documents the trajectory of NIHILI LOCUS as well as the eras of extreme metal which they were not only a part of but helped to shape.
Nincs Szennyezetlen Szép
The Devil’s Trade
One of the things I appreciate most about the album is a deep darkness and tension that runs through every song. It is held just below the surface and out of view, but it is real. Mostly depressive, but sometimes defiant, the album will hold your interest.
Arise
Omnivide
There is no doubt in my mind; I really like what OMNIVIDE does on “Arise”. This certainly is Death Metal from start to finish, but the way they have been able io incorporate the Progressive Metal inspirations, rhythms, breaks and parts is nothing less than impressive.
Stare Into The Seething Wounds
Extortionist
Musically I can’t fault “Stare Into The Seething Wounds”, as EXTORTIONIST is doing everything right. They go from fast and furious to slow, deliberate and emotional within seconds.
Fate Weaver
Typhus
If I had to write a conclusion in a few short words , it would be that “Fate Weaver” is a solid album that will appeal to a lot of lovers of Heavy, Power and Speed Metal. If TYPHUS works on their writing and is able to improve with time, I feel that they can reach a really big audience.
IDSUNGWÜSSÄ
Abraham
The album crawls from the speakers like a living wound…dark, and filthy. Listening feels less like experiencing music and more like enduring an ordeal…a descent into a pit where pain and madness blur together. It seems chaotic, but it’s a deliberate architecture of horror that transforms suffering into expression. This is not music for comfort or catharsis. It’s music that drags you through filth to remind you what darkness truly feels like, a portrait of anguish painted in noise and decay.
Primordial Reverie
Cepheidae Variable
This was a solid album to listen to. Without vocals, the artist has to work harder to convey his feelings and emotions in his music, and Ryan did that well. Many of the melodies you can hum or sing along with, and that’s a testament to the instrumental album.
A Liminal Step
Feather Mountain
This was an excellent album, with a varied approach to each song. The band are consummate musicians, and they hit every nuance and nook and cranny in the music with impeccable timing, The music sometimes took unexpected turns at times, but always kept me engaged. I can’t help think more about how they described the album…”a magical antidote in a world full of chaos,” because that’s how the sound came across for me.
Dusketha
Goad
“Dusketha” is a double album with over 116 minutes of music. It is Progressive Rock/Pop, and definitely not Metal, so if you’re expecting Heavy and/or distorted guitars, pounding rhythms and intricate structures and songs, you’re not going to get it.
