Endo Feight
Sarke
SARKE’s eighth studio album, “Endo Feight,” is a diverse collection of tracks, sampling the wide range of styles they’ve explored over their 16-year tenure.
The End Of It All
Astral Doors
ome five years after releasing “Worship Or Die” ASTRAL DOORS return with a surprise. A new album! Not exactly expected anymore, so a big and positive surprise, and totally welcome. “The End Of It All” is the title, and the first question that pops up is; is this true? Is this the last we will hear from this Swedish band?
Purgatory
Downfall Of Mankind
I just thought it was a whole bunch of noise, until all of a sudden all the pieces of the puzzle feel into the right places and it all started making sense. Do I feel that DOWNFALL OF MANKIND has made a blinding album? No, I don't, but I do think they have made one that will get the afficionados of Modern Metal take stock and give them something to think about.
I Am The Weapon
Flotsam And Jetsam
One thing is for sure; when the first riffs of “A New Kind Of Hero” come through your speakers you will recognise this as being FLOTSAM & JETSAM. Once the vocals of Eric AK are added it only confirms this feat.
Mothfield (Reissue)
Mothfield
As a music lover, I am always looking for something off the beaten path…something different. This was a hard pill to swallow, however. When music itself becomes too discordant, it is even music anymore? You have to admire their courage, but there just isn't a lot to enjoy here.
Defilers Of The Light
Darkened
“Defilers Of The Light” is a symbiosis of traditional Death Metal elements and doom-laden, epic, melodic elements enriched with melancholy
Evolve
Royal Rage
ROYAL RAGE deliver a decent Thrash Metal album based upon a solid mid-tempo approach with the guitars leading the Thrash Metal assault
Grim Times
Indulgence
Let me start by saying that f you are expecting INDULGENCE to sound polished, slick or easy listening, you can get that notion right out of your head. This is honest, raw, direct and uncompromising Thrash Metal, with all the flaws that this brings.
Heavy Rain
Heavy Rain
HEAVY RAIN is a three piece Heavy Rock/Blues/Psychedelic Rock band from Blackpool, England. I only know that town from the Rock that is a candy stick and the Blackpool Tower, which is the little cousin of the Eiffel Tower. But I certainly have grown to like it a lot more, mainly due to the music on “Heavy Rain”.
AcidBait EP
AcidBait
The “AcidBait” songs themselves will stand up to any criticism you throw at them. No, they're not perfect, but they all have a good structure, a solid foundation and enough points that will keep you interested. This never bores.
Divergence
Nightwraith
This album stands out as one of the most unusual I've ever heard. It masterfully blends the raw intensity of fierce Black Metal with the soothing presence of smooth keyboards and intricate guitar harmonies. The contrast between the harsh vocals and the melodic, atmospheric layers creates a unique listening experience that feels both powerful and unexpectedly harmonious, pushing the boundaries of what music can offer.
Glimmer of Hope
Orra
This album did indeed have a diverse ebb and flow, and I hear a lot of promise from the band. They are only a few steps away from a breakthrough in my opinion, but as it is, this was a very pleasant listening experience.
Who’s Laughing Now
Savage Wizdom -
Metal is alive in Mexico.
Encompassing The Unknown
Relicon
A Metal lullaby.
Universe Calls
Paralydium
This was an excellent album but not without some consternation. Their level of technical ability is outstanding, but at times, they lost me in the journey of their construction of melodies. Sometimes they sound just a bit too sterile. Still, if you are a fan of Progressive music, there is a lot to like here.
Opus Daemoniacal
Limbonic Art
I don’t know how anyone could survive the onslaught of this album in their ears. The band presses the gas pedal down from the first note and doesn’t let up until the sound has long since passed. It just isn’t very creative.
Unimaginable Dreams of Fate
Catharia
This was an excellent album. It wasn’t just an overly aggressive ride through a conventional Black Metal path, it was a creative and modern approach to the genre. The album kept the listener on their toes throughout, alternating between passages of pure fear and others that were just laced with tension. The aggression was there for sure, in spades at times, but the band knew when to pour gasoline onto the fire and when to snuff it out.
A Fragile Present
Marco Glühmann
Not being familiar with his main band, I took Marco’s solo album on its merits alone, and it is fantastic. He clearly doesn’t shy away from melodies that border, and in some cases, jump head first into the Pop music category. What results is an album has that substance, character, and artistry, with complexities that are subtle and don’t take away from an easy listening experience.
Muerte Y Metal
Intranced
Considered one of the hottest newcomers on the American metal scene, formed in 2022 in […]
Lotus
Carnwennan
This was an excellent album. The cover art portrays hues of intense orange and red, almost like fire, over a bed of darker colors underneath, almost like the deep ocean. The amorphous form hold the secret to the album, which is torture in a dungeon outside of your worst fears.
Exhibition of Conquest
Kommandant
Black Metal is one genre that is boldly expansive, if bands take advantage of the loose genre boundaries. Unfortunately, KOMMANDANT didn’t take an real risks with their sound. They aren’t bad musicians by any stretch, but they do need to risk a little more in order to separate themselves from thousands of other like bands.
Darkness
Legions Of The Night
Legions of The Night the German based power metal group bring us album number three […]
Dark Awakening
Ira Tenax
As I mentioned, this isn’t a bad album at all. However, the experienced band relies too much on the same formulas of the past. I would rather hear a band try and fail then to just rest on what worked for them on previous albums.
Encrypted
Nightmare
WOW, this release is the living proof that even pioneers can learn some new lessons and unleash a state-of-the-art full-length!
Death.Horses.Black
My Diligence
This fine mixing between Progressive Rock, Stoner Metal and Psychedelic Rock is something that will blow your minds.
Forever Is Not Nearly Long Enough
Mind’s Mirrors
Wow, one can hear a US Power Metal form of music with clear traces from European Power Metal School, and many more! It's amazing!
Circle Of Pain
Henry Kane
WOW, combining Crust, Grindcore, Death Metal, Black Metal and others, this album is surely a GREAT release!!!!
Time Horizon
Drive By Wire
This is a very good and hooking Stoner Rock/Hard Rock release.
Excursion
Cleen
This is a fine "first coming" for this Stoner Metal/Rock trio.
Livre Troisième
Les Chants Du Hazard
Fans of classical music and horror might find this to their liking. I feel like I am in church again, as a young boy. But, it’s not a typical church service, because behind the façade on the stage, horrible things are being done just out of sight. It’s dark, and mysterious, and as I mentioned, the band is not without talent…it’s just not for me.
Silver Romance
Freedom Call
Freedom call is back celebrating 25 years.
Imprisoned Souls
Eternal Drak
All ok but the singing.
Opera
Fleshgod Apocalypse
And again the Italian Death Metal Maestros created a masterpiece!
…By The Shadows …
Trelldom
The album is dark, a place where melodies twist and turn through corridors of haunting echoes and sudden, sharp dissonance, creating a wall of sound that is both crushing and exhilarating. Vocals emerge from the depths like tortured whispers, and rhythms pulse erratically, at times lulling you into a trance-like state. There’s a feeling that something is always lurking just out of sight, something that haunts the spaces between the sounds. It’s like being trapped in a fevered dream that teeters on the brink of nightmare, compelling you to keep listening, even as it pulls you deeper into its embrace.
Omnipotence
Between The Killings
A second installment to the depravity of a killer expressed with sheer brutality
Omegon
Wormed
WORMED does such a great job at expressing an epic sci fi saga that is rooted in technical brutal death, but they are so much more than this. There are just so many layers to the complexities of WORMED than just mere brutal death metal.
