Emetic Imprecations
Vomitrot
Sweden’s
Vomitrot
delivers a grotesque symphony with their 2024 release
"Emetic Imprecations"
, an album steeped in the filth and grime of death/doom metal.
Vomitrot
doesn’t just dabble in the macabre; they revel in it, conjuring a deeply visceral experience that bathes the listener in waves of suffocating riffs and vomitous gutturals. This LP is a masterclass in death metal’s most primal instincts, merging the grinding weight of doom with the frenetic aggression of death metal. With six tracks,
"Emetic Imprecations"
leaves a lasting impression as a standout record that refuses to compromise on its disgusting, yet enthralling sound.
Evolve
The Hypothesis
One of the best parts of the album was how the band held some of the Progressive elements in check, and let the melody do much of the talking. There are still the hardened structures of Metal but they are tempered with hooks. I can’t say this enough…this album is all about a great balance.
Blindfolded
Heavenblack
What HEAVENBLACK has going for themselves is that the know how to write songs, they are quite proficient on their instruments plus they have very competent singers in Marios Kouroupis and Dimitris Varvarigos.
Songs Of Steel
Souls of Steel
SOULS OF STEEL classes themselves as Heavy/Thrash Metal. Well, that is the right order, but I wouldn’t hesitate to add Power Metal to those qualifications. That is when you get the whole picture.
Rock 'n' Roll Church
Glorious Bankrobbers
GLORIOUS BANKROBBERS, are a band from Stockholm, Sweden originally formed in 1983. After various line […]
The Keep & The Spire
Theigns & Thralls
One thing is sure, the music of THEIGNS & THRALLS on "The Keep & The Spire" will have you dancing, tapping your feet, raising your tankard and sometimes even banging your head. That’s how addictive it is.
Hungry As The Beast
Witchtrap
WITCHTRAP’s “Hungry As The Beast” is one of those unpretentious albums that doesn’t try to be something it isn’t. Just straightforward Speed Metal with little Blackened evil sprinkled on top to make it go down smooth. Highly recommended this one.
Through Holes Shine The Stars
Demon Head
DEMON HEAD’s “Through Holes Shine The Stars” is like a house that is larger on the inside than it is on the outside, twisting at unexpected angles, plunging to impossible depths—a musical version of Danielewski’s novel, “House of Leaves.”
Songs Against Humanity
The Spirit
“
Songs Against Humanity
” takes THE SPIRIT to the next level and their next logical steps in the discography. I don’t see any reason why fans of the band would not enjoy this album but it’s accessible enough to grab plenty of new fans too.
Phantast
ÄERA
ÄERA
’s “
Phantast
,” is, all at the same time, a hard hitting, melodic, atmospheric, adventurous, and clever album that will satisfy any fans of the genre that want more out of their black metal than just raw total satan tropes.
Lysistrata
Eldingar
All in all,
ELDINGAR
’s “
Lysistrata
,” is a step up from their debut, even if the band still struggles with some filler and balance issues. If they can get out of their own way and find more focus within their sound, their next album will probably be something truly special.
Withered Hearts Standing
Tethra
There was a contrast between the clean and harsh vocals, as well as a nice balance between the emotions of anger and despair. I loved the female vocals especially, and would have liked to have heard more of them. The album brought up conflicting feelings for me, and that is always the mark of an interesting listening experience.

A Warrior’s Way
Evilon
“A Warrior’s Way” is an exciting mixture of melodic Death Metal and Folk Metal, enriched with symphonic elements
Dreams On Algorithms
Escuela Grinds
“Dreams On Algorithms” is an experimental mixture of various Metal and Core elements, fusing together into a unique sonic experience
A Theft
Still
It’s an album that doesn’t just convey hopelessness but forces you to confront it, to sit with it, and to understand its unyielding power. Hopelessness isn’t merely a word; it’s an experience, a place the artist invites you to visit and perhaps, a reminder that sometimes it’s the darkness that makes us fully see.
Succumb
One With The Riverbed
It’s the kind of album that lifts you up just enough to breath but then stifles you with thick, black smoke. You only get a fleeting sense of relief. This repeated pattern is one that you don’t even notice, because hope is such a strong feeling. Come and explore the many different layers of sound on the album and decide for yourself how it makes you feel.

Days of Oblivion
Epic Down
Call it a personal preference, but I believe the cold harshness of the music needs vocals that match, or at least, compliment the sound. Normally, contrasts are some of the things I look for in an album. But not in Doom. The music has fangs, the vocals are just too palpable, and the songs sound too similar to one another.
Thy Prime Dread
Dreadmask
I’m afraid this album just fell flat. It didn’t push any boundaries, nor use any of the other tools in the genre like clean vocals or keyboards. It was just guitar driven MeloDeath with some guitar harmonies here and there. I would encourage them to take more chances next time, because it can make their sounds more memorable.
Writhing Between Birth and Death

III
Black Oak County
This album doesn’t attempt to recreate the wheel, but what it does is present a genuine and honest energy from a group of rockers who take no prisoners. I can also hear how well the music would translate to a live audience. 12 songs was just a little too much in terms of overstaying its welcome, but it was a good listen.
Time is Running
Witchunters
This release displays a way of mixing traditional Heavy Metal melodies with Thrash Metal aggressiveness.
Seat of the Fire
Vulgaris
This band is playing a form of "All-in-One" Metal, and it works ina great way! Hear to it! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
We Are Satan’s People
Transport League
Wow, this release is really amazing, and fans of Hard Rock, Sludge Metal, Groove Metal will love it!
Little Wars
Thunderbird Divine
For addicted on Stoner Rock/Metal tendencies, this album will have a deep appeal.
Shadow Knell
Shadow Knell
If you're into Ambient Music/Atmospheric Music tendencies, this album is for you.
The Fall of House Abbarath
Dragoncorpse
Rather than creating a chaotic mess, the album finds an odd but undeniable synergy between these opposing genres. It’s a sonic balancing act that draws on the strengths of each style, blending the epic storytelling and technical prowess of Power Metal with the primal force and unpredictability of Deathcore. This album challenges genre boundaries in a way that feels fresh, inventive, and wholly original.
Prey To Your Deception
137
What surprises me most of all when listening to “Prey To Your Deception” is the fact that 137 never had the luxury or pleasure of being signed to any label. To me that is like the very definition of a grave injustice.
Heavy Metal Survivors
Sign of the Jackal
As for the music on “Heavy Metal Survivors”, it is as straight forward as an arrow. Hard driven riffs, flanked by thumping bass sounds and very inspired drumming is what SIGN OF THE JACKAL is shooting at you. it works, and it will have you interested in a heartbeat.
Dark Horizons
Sinner's Blood
As for the musical direction SINNER’S BLOOD has chosen, it is Melodic Metal, with a mix of Heavy and Power Metal mixed in constantly, but also some slightly Industrial and even Gothic snippets here and there. And whilst listening to “Dark Horizons” I can only conclude that they do have their ducks in a row, as what SINNER’S BLOOD is playing is being done with a bucketload of conviction, a heap of enthusiasm, a lot of good sounding harmony vocals and an abundance of musical ability.
When We Were Kings
Stryper
The thing is, when the music starts you will immediately be able to identify it as STRYPER. The way the riffing is done, the sound of the guitars, the structures of the songs and of course the very distinctive voice of Michael Sweet make sure you know who you’re listening to.
