The Ascent & The Hunger
Palantyr
This French Speed Metal/Heavy Metal act changed its name, but it's very good work is still the same.
Those of the Morbid
Leper Colony
These experienced musicians created a great Old School Death Metal release!
Fuck Jesus and Praise Me!!
In Utero Cannibalism
These Greek Death Metal madmen created a very good release, indeed.
Schlachtenklang

Where the Sun Resigns
Skuggor
It has many of the traditional elements that the listener might expect from Black Metal, but also a few surprises, and the band didn’t make the wall of guitars, shrieking vocals, or blast beat drumming the basis of their sound. Instead, they expanded it with harrowing background elements, and many somber tones throughout.
The Future Wants Us Dead
Oria
Although the style was unique, the band also produced a product that will appeal to a wide variety of Metalheads. It’s aggressive and weighted enough for most enthusiasts but also experimental enough for those like myself who like music that is outside of the box. In some ways, this album might hold clues to what the future offers, and that future is dark and intriguing. This is a band to mark, and follow their footsteps.
The Loss
Mares of Thrace
This was a complicated album in terms of how many different styles of Metal were represented, but the messages were received loud and clear. Although I personally don’t care for some of the shouted vocals, that is a preference only and not reflective of how well the album is constructed. I will say one thing for sure, don’t listen to this if you are already in a bad mood, because its tentacles might reach out and pull you under the water.
At the Edge
Falling From Grace
This album was an excellent listening experience. It had many of the elements that Metalheads crave, including aggressiveness, weight, and even some thick grooves. The riffs were catchy, the harsh vocals were thick and lively, and the entire album had a lot of energy. This is definitely a band to keep an eye on.

A2Z²
A-Z
The debut album “A-Z” is filled with rather good Melodic Rock, whereas this current album “A2Z²” has the advantage of the addition of many a Progressive Rock/Metal infusion.
The Time Has Come
Bark
The way the music is played and the accompanying way it exits my speakers is very much acceptable and enjoyable. I like what I hear.
Demo Anthology (1985-1986)
Sacred Oath
I like SACRED OATH, as they have musical similarities to bands like MERCYFUL FATE, but also some Progressive bands like very early FATES WARNING. There are a lot more influences you will hear, but they will expose themselves to you when you take a listen.
The Lost Archangel
Warlord
WARLORD is a band that has given a lot of musical pleasure to a lot of Old School Epic Heavy Metal throughout the years. Formed in 1980 in Los Angeles they became responsible for some absolute classics throughout the years. Especially “And The Canons Of Destruction Have Begun…...” (1984) is one of those albums that every heavy metal enthusiast should have in his collection.
Symbiosis

This impressive five piece blackened death metal band emerged from Switzerland in 2013 and prior […]
Against All Odds
Hate Forest
The band isn’t without talent, but you wouldn’t know it, because the album has eight songs that sound the same. The songs are frightening, but that’s all that the album has going for it. It’s hard to champion an album like thi

Asservis par l’espoir
Solfatare
Hope is an illusion that enslaves us to small-minded ideas and conspires to charm us into our own damnation. Got it. Check. Also, “Asservis par l’espoir” is fucking savage. So, yay despair.
Pandemonium
Enevelde
Well, that was some fucked up evil shit.
Akuzaï
Enterré Vivant
The method of a longer song followed by a shorter one, and the intermixing of spoken word pieces with traditional Black Metal offerings keeps this album surprising, as well as interesting. You never know what might be around the corner. In a genre that is often dominated by traditional FWOBM sounds, this album stands out as bold, and daring.
Awaken a New Age of Chaos
Katagory V
Well, let's see. KATAGORY V play complex, driving Progressive Power Metal with class and finesse, aiming not only to rip your head off with riffs, but also to rip your head off with riffs and class
Metal World
Then Comes the Night
I feel that THEN COMES THE NIGHT is a real celebration of the genre all of it's own. They sound like a plethora of bands from the 80's yet it feels good to hear it. It's not reinventing the wheel obviously but you don't need it at all times. Sometimes you just need a good band to rock out and that's bloody fine

In Horror, Reborn
Disfuneral

Live At The Roxy
Cirith Ungol
The music and sound on “Live At The Roxy”, it is impeccable. The songs chosen are from all over their career and are being delivered in a bloody impressive way. Little mishaps or mistakes have been left in, which only adds to the authenticity of what CIRITH UNGOL is all about.
Ascension
Destinity
I’m not going to tell you that “Ascension” is covering any new territories, or that our French friends of DESTINITY are about the set the Metal world on fire with their way of making music, but I will be shouting out that anyone who loves good Old School and/or Melodic Death Metal needs to give this album a serious try by having a good listen. Like me you might be very pleasantly surprised by what you encounter.
Divergence
Ghostseeker
“Divergence” is not a band album at all, because if you are a real Metalcore afficionado, or even a Female Fronted Gothic Metal enthusiast, you will hear a lot of parts that sound quite good.
Ritual Supremacy
Sacred Steel
What becomes very clear when listening to SACRED STEEL is that they know exactly when they can extend and when they need to cut it short. That does make that there is not one track that feels like it isn’t as the band was wanting it to be.
Listless
Listless
I thoroughly enjoyed the album, and it offered more than many other Black Metal deliveries. Sure, the firm, aggressive tones are there, but so are softer, more pensive tones. Add these two with a sweeping sense of despair, and you get an album that is steep in regret as it is in anger.

Hex
Black Map
When you consider the album as a whole, what separates it from many others out there is the honest songwriting. I have the distinct idea that the band doesn’t care if you like their music or not, and that’s the right kind of attitude for their music.
