My neighbors are really beginning to hate me, not because I cut my grass in a Speedo and cowboy boots but because every time I put WINGS OF STEEL on the stereo cranked to eleven, my neighborhood plus the next two counties over hear them too. Well looks like WINGS OF STEEL have upped the ante again with the release of their second single “We Rise” from their upcoming album “Winds of Time”  that I am guaranteeing will be an absolute BEAST and most likely topping my “Album of the Year” list. The band’s description of the song: “The track is the sonic and visual representation of many of our everyday reflections as it relates to finding peace and strength through unity. This message paired with our modern yet vintage sound come together to take you on an epic old school arena rock style journey that will raise your spirits in a true rock'n'roll fashion”.

“We Rise” opens with an graceful, angelic guitar backdrop shadowing over these chilling lyrics “I used to be a dreamer, I walked in plains of gold, saw beauty in the eyes of everyone, now I walk in strange lands, my heart has turned to stone frightened by the dark that soon will follow”, but don’t get too complacent  because you’re about to be blasted into hyperspace as the explosive scream from the extremely gifted Leo Unnermark will give you chills and have you fist pumping with full force in the same vein that Geoff Tate delivered on “Queen of the Reich” as the classic power cords and galloping drum and rhythm backing that defined the 80’s and NWOBHV sound with a cocksure attitude all masterfully delivered by the powerful guitar shredding of Parker Halub who’s not afraid to blaze his own trail bringing us back to simpler times when MTV actually played music videos, muscle cars ruled the roads and your house speakers were taller than you.

There isn’t too much more I can say about “We Rise”, it is a masterful song played out right before our eyes and ears by a band that is redefining today's’ heavy metal landscape and lyrically, they are intellect-driven and creative, they are the total musical package. Every aspect about WINGS OF STEEL screams heavy metal euphoria from their look, their stage presence, chemistry and persona.

With so many of the original Hard Rock and heavy metal bands sadly fading away and disappearing due to age and health issues it's great to see the resurgence of this genre, which is fueled by the resurgence of young bands lead by WINGS OF STEEL, and the music industry is taking notice realizing Hard Rock/heavy metal is still relevant and profitable and us headbangers are not going anywhere, after all, we are the generation raised on leather, rebellion, fantasy and having a fuckin good time.
