Self-Titled
Wings In Motion
This is something that you all should wait for. I know that most of what is called today as melodic Death Metal is just another word for modern Metalcore but as I have told you before in my earlier reviews, there is still a fraction of hope to what started in Sweden back in the early 90s. Do you remember AT THE GATES? If not, I hope that you know DARK TRANQULLITY or early SOILWORK. Add these two bands along with the modern orientations of AS I LAY DYING or ALL SHALL PERISH and you will get yourself this band, WINGS IN MOTION.
For everyone who raised an eyebrow after I inserted the last two bands, there is no reason to as I never mentioned that this here band is the face of the new old school. WINGS IN MOTION, founded in Greece, is yet another version of how good melodic Death Metal can sound like. Without off-putting the image of modernity, especially with the sound production executed on their two promo tracks on display, they managed to mostly lay off the "Core" within the midst of their extreme music.
Judging by the two promo tracks sent by their PR Company, Wild Rose Angel Productions, what is incoming from this band will be interesting for sure. Only from those two tracks I fell in love with their vocalist, Andre Boutos, which showed great diversity between low and high end growls, tight modern screamo and a full of depth clean vocals. Nonetheless, I hope that the rest of the album will present slightly more melodic guitar driven riffs because I felt that the melodic dosage, aside from the slow tempo harmonies, is missing. On the other hand, the rate of the compositions is good in overall.
WINGS IN MOTION sent a sort of greeting card with a little Yasu. I pretty much enjoyed the two tracks and I would really like to hear more.
