WildRoads - Riding On A Flamining Road album cover

WILDROADS is a Hard N' Heavy band formed in Tuscany in 2001 by guitarist Nik Capitini's idea. In March 2010 they released first EP and debut full length album "Riding On A Flamin' Road" was released near the end of 2012. Their grand plus are amazing guitar solos on each song, fabulous rhythmic section consists of Kenny Carbonetto (Bass) and Stefano Morandini (Drums), perfectly played guitars by Nik Capitini and Giulio Antonelli & of course the vocalist Michael Cavallini who can produce diverse vocals in quite a range. It is worth to mention that the artwork of this album is very funny and will share a hint or two with the listener of what is inside.

From the first sounds of "Look At Me Burning" there is that cheery Rock N' Roll texture with riffs reminding of AC/DC with their patterns, relatively an enjoyable track. But, my number one on this album is without a doubt the track "Wildroads" attacking with strong guitar riffs & a grand rhythm section, cool verse and chorus, somewhat Punk oriented rhythm with a sense of melody, a fantastic instrumental performance that also includes a splendid guitar solo. The text of the chorus really took over my thoughts: "And so we run, we run on Wildroads, You should come here and join us tonight". Pretty simple but it sticks. "Sick Soul", pretty cheery and spirited Rock N' Roll song for this kind of title, displaying a clear sound of drums and an amazing mixing with crunchy riff. This number is melodic with tons of fun, nice chorus with a clear question of "Am I going crazy?". "She Has Been Cheated", a Rock N' Roll driven mania in the spirit of AC/DC. The band made a video for the song "Your Last Day", a cutter with groovy rhythm and smacking riffs. Plenty of vitality & power are on "Rider Of The Sunset", I could really feel the heart behind this one with the nice lyrics such as "Oh, I am rider of the sunset, The sun in red, at the next motel, You'll be on my bed, Alea iacta est, There's no more past, There's no more rest".

The band recorded two wonderful ballads. The highly memorable "Relieve My Life" lasts over 8 minutes. Michael Cavallini at the front end, sounds amazing on such delicate songs with that Italian romantic, also the lyrics confirm that. The great guitar solo reminds me of some of the peak moments of GUNS 'N' ROSES. "To Be King" has an epic outline and a colorful decoration with great performances of both vocals and acoustic guitars. Back in the Rockin barrage, "Titty Twister Blues (Open Dusk 'Til Dawn)" cracks with punching Blues Rock but also abiding to the drifts of ZZ TOP, yet the second half of this song changes into a faster melodious Rock 'n' Roll.

I think that Italian WILDROADS is really great. They are young, lean and mean, pretty hearable in their music. It feels a simple joy listening to their playing. Musically album is well done & pleasing with cool catchy melodic choruses that will cement one's mind with their hooks. I'm sure that everyone who is a diehard fan of Hard Rock, Rock 'n' Roll, Blues and catchy melodies will enjoy this CD. Their live act must be prime event.
