Warrior Soul - Out On Bail album cover

In the early days of the 90's, everyone knows that Alternative Rock came and took the North American parades by assault. Many acts of those days became famous, and others earned a 'cult' status. And although WARRIOR SOUL can't be called an Alternative Rock/Metal band (they band is, in reality, a Hard Rock act), their albums "Last Decade Dead Century" (1990) and "Drugs, God and the New Republic" (1991) were heavily praised by the press and fans. Today, they're still active, and they're back for another round with "Out On Bail", their latest album.

Their music can be said as Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, Alternative Rock/Metal, Stoner Rock, or another label the fans can find. It's a form of music full of an organic and hooking energy earned from the 60's and 70's, but in a form that doesn't sound 'outdated' or 'dusty'. No, their melodies and abrasive feeling of the band's music is excellent, showing many great choruses, melodies that are simple to assimilate, and an amazing energy that can make the fans think if the band is really 35 years old! Yes, unlike many names from the 90's, they still have a place on music, because it's really a great album!

It's obvious that Kory Clarke (the band's vocalist and founder, and that spent 4 years singing on TROUBLE) produced the album, having additional production by Dennis Post, and was mixed and mastered by Rune Buck (and with additional sound support of John J.J. Wattand). Their works created an abrasive sonority that fits on the band's music, always balancing the organic feeling and instrumental tunes with a level of definition that their music needs. And it's really very good, indeed. And some guests are presented on the album: Ivan Tambac on the drums on "Paradigm" and "End of the World"; John Besser on the drums on "We're Alive", "Hip Hip Hurray", "Out On Bail", "Cancelled Culture" and "YoYo"; John 'Baby H' Hodgson on the guitars on "Out On Bail", Adam Arling on the guitars on "We're Alive" and "Paradigm"; John 'Full Throttle' Polachek on the guitars on "One More for the Road" and "Cancelled Culture"; and Maria Hatzina on the vocals on "Hip Hip Hurray".

"Out On Bail" is an album that delivers a musical work that is really excellent, fresh and interesting. A bit on songs as the energetic and massive "We're Alive" (a song with an easy set of melodies and charming arrangements that can hook anyone), the abrasive and nasty filth approach of "One More for the Road" (a strong song with massive guitars and very good contrasts of vocals' tunes), the dynamic and heavy groove presented on "Hip Hip Hurray", the Hard Rock hooks of "Out On Bail" (that combines influences of THE ROLLING STONES and AC/DC alike in this easy technical insight) and of "Cancelled Culture" (very good work on bass guitar and drums, giving sustain for shocking and easy melodies), the climatic and lysergic weight of "End of the World" and "YoYo", and the introspective and melancholic abrasive appeal of "The New Paradigm", and everyone will be hooked for sure.

The time passed, but the soul of this warrior is still ferocious. Take a chance on "Out On Bail", and check this outstanding offering of WARRIOR SOUL.
