Inclination
Vulnificus
The music that VULNIFICUS plays is anything but straight forward or simple. On the contrary, even though it does sound that way, when you really listen you hear and experience all the twists and turns, the breaks, the changes in tempo, while all the time being able to maintain that Extreme Heaviness and intense atmosphere.

VULNIFICUS means to wound, and in that respect, it is a very apt name for a band that plays Technical Death Metal. Yes, I know that a lot of people view the music that this Indiana, Indianapolis, USA based Extreme Metal based band makes is classed as Brutal Death Metal, but although this is extremely Heavy, and I do get the Brutal part, I feel that this isn't as Brutal as I expected. As for the past, VULNIFICUS has only been around since 2021, and thus far they have been quite productive and have already produced three EPs. On 10 October 2025 it is time for their full-length studio debut album "Inclination" to hit the streets.
In the 42:09 minutes that span the length of "Inclination" there is no denying the fact that VULNIFICUS is as dirty a Death Metal band as you can get. In music as well as sound. The latter is emphasised by vocalist (I wouldn't dare to call him a singer ) E. Browne, as his very low pitched growls and grunts sound like they have ascended from the depths of Hell. On top of that you get really dirty bass guitar sounds that hold the fort in conjunction with the fierce and in your face style of drumming. Above those layers you will find two guitars that have very low sounds, almost like bass guitars that have been set just a bit top high. But you know what; the combination of all of this works. I have to admit that it took me two fruitless listening session before the penny dropped whilst listening for a third time.
There is not one second of rest throughout the whole of "Inclination". I expected that to be a problem for me, but somehow VULNIFICUS gets away with it. I will go as far as to say that "Inclination" is one hell of a very enjoyable album, once you get used to the way the band approaches the way they make their music. And yes, if you are adventurous, take your time to explore this. Like me you might be pleasantly surprised.
