“Noxious Emissions” deliver a relentless blend of Death Metal with Doom Metal and Crust elements
April 27, 2026

VOIDHÄMMER hailing from Long Beach, California were formed in 2025 with all three members also being active together in KARST. The Death Metal and Crust outfit release their debut EP. "Noxious Emissions" has a length of about 14 minutes, and it was released via US Black, Death, and Doom Metal specialists Caligary Records. No video has been released yet. The EP has a powerful start with the track "Rotting In Excrement". Starting off with thunderous guitar riffs at mid-tempo, the track transitions into a frantic verse part, driven by the blast-beats and punishing riffs. The vocals are growls, varying between the deep to medium end of the guttural range. After the short pummeling episode, the track switches constantly between a measured tempo and mid-tempo driven by the D-beat. That includes a mid-tempo break with a short but contributing lead guitar solo. "Cadaveric Bload" starts with direct and aggressive guitar riffs at a fast pace for the verse part. The transition to the chorus slows down to a measured tempo accompanied by a lot of double-bass drumming, while the sound is groovier than at the beginning of the track. The melodies are spine-chilling, in particular during the slower parts of the track. The break introduces a bit of chaos and a trace of a lead guitar solo.

"Phosphorized" starts fast and furious with aggressive riffs, plenty of double-bass drumming, and a short blast-beat attack. While the verse part is fast, the rest of the track switches between mid-tempo and measured tempo. The guitar riffing is direct and simple during the mid-tempo parts and a bit more playful during the slower parts of the track. The track concludes with a break at measured tempo which includes a short lead guitar solo. The EP finishes with "Coffin Leakage" and the track starts with devastating guitar riffs at measured tempo and a sluggish rhythm. It does not take long for a transition to the fast verse part, which is enriched by a few blast-beats. As with the other tracks, there are a few twists and turns in tempo and rhythm. The break is once again near the end and it leads into a cool lead guitar solo, which is the highlight of the track. VOIDHÄMMER release a promising debut EP. "Noxious Emissions" deliver a relentless blend of Death Metal with Doom Metal and Crust elements. VOIDHÄMMER do not re-invent the wheel, they offer a seamless continuation of the sound of previous releases of KARST. The EP is well produced. Fans of a doom-laden Death Metal sound with Crust punk twists will be delighted with the songs on "Noxious Emissions".
