VoidCeremony - Entropic Reflections Continuum: Dimensional Unravel album cover

The depths of human depravity continuously expand in ceaseless volume, and those well versed in the craft of recognizing such ever invoke sentiments of obsolescence and abandon; one such entity capable of realizing the darker trepidations of the human spirit is, VOIDCEREMONY, who now have just released their debut which communes and conveys such sacrosanct malignity.

The LP begins on the track, "Desiccated Whispers," an intricate track filled with tempo and rhythm changes, dry panned guitars, a danse macabre bass, and denigrative lyrics; the opening of the album works its way as an assault on your senses, distorting not only your perception of reality but as well your sense of self. "Sacrosanct Delusions" immediately jumps out the gates in full acceleration, the constant shifts between half-time and double time are immediately noticeable creating sensations of tension and unease. Perhaps the most intricate and distinct song upon the album, "Empty, Grand Majesty (Cyclical Descent Of Casualty)" is a myriad of differently elements stemming from Death Metal and Black Metal all rolled into one menagerie of a track-listening to such is an unforgettable, and unshakeable, experience as never once does the track relent from its in-your-face approach.

The performance of each instrument is a manner distinct, discrete, and vicious by all measures-the delivery of each strike, strum, and growl was done with furious precision where the rhythm was itself nowhere near as concerned or involved as the sheer brutality and aggression behind each recording. The guitars are of a kind of demonic origin, invoking the stress of each strum into the caustic knell of each chord and progression; the drums are something of a Wildman let loose, coming in as a torrent of body, snare, and cymbals regardless of the rhythm; the bass is a fantastic beast, a distinct, grotesque, and powerful amplitude of low end courses through every track like some manner of corruptive heart beat, neither stealing the attention of the track, nor under powering the strength of its foundation; lastly, the vocals are of something unearthly and otherworldly as they capture the spirit of some greater creature looking down in anger and despair.

"Entropic Reflections Continuum: Dimensional Unravel" was an album which took me by surprise and further wrested my attention to parts previously unknown, traversing the esoteric reaches of a kind of self-reflecting depravity. The album contains a maelstrom of musical ventures all on the heavier side of Death and Black Metal and, whilst never being wholly contained in one category over the other, lends the listener some macabre and mournful tunes to headbang to.
