VANITY BLVD is a Swedish Hard Rock band. With female vocals leading the way, the band rocks out on their new album "Wicked Temptation", with lots of heavy blues riffs and catchy choruses.
The album starts with "Dirty Rat", a song full of venom and bite with a cool main riff and chorus. The band rock out really well, and you can see why this song opens things up, keeping things fairly short and sweet, with a great 80's vibe to the song. The band mainly deals in straight forward, no nonsense Rock, with meaty main riffs, and vocals full of attitude. From the heavier tunes like "Do Or Die" with some powerful drumming and riffage on show, to the ballad "Falling Down", a song that has a very 80s glam feel to it with a bit more of a modern styling.
The highlight of the album for me is the track "Thrills In The Night", with it's awesome bassline making way for the rest of the song. It has a really cool feel to it, and lots of dynamics that make this song stand out a bit more from the rest of the album. The album ends with "Dirty Action", which opens with a kind of filter effect on the guitars before the full sound of the band kicks in. This is a nice end to the album with a cool groove to it, and some great vocal harmonies too. The chorus is very cool with a driving sound to it.
The production is pretty good on the album, and everything is well recorded and mixed. The vocals and drums stand out the most in terms of how they actually sound. Overall, this is a solid album of rocking tunes, with some solid mainstream oriented songwriting that should see the band to some success.
