A Hint of Solace
Vanish
A German power metal band brings so many good memories to this one who writes you, so expectations have become high to check out what Vanish's third studio work can offer us. The "Hint Of Solace" demonstrates throughout its eight tracks a lot of strength in its instruments songs on the rhythm of the classic Power with long vocal notes and sticky and melodic choruses as the teachings command. Despite being only in their third studio production, the band was formed in 2000, and only bassist Andreas Armbruster joined in a more recent period (2017). The album features a great mixing as usual for the genre and also a beautiful cover.
The opener "Crowdpiercer" starts with a strong and melodic guitar riff and a female voice in the background giving the introduction to a powerful song, Ben Galster's vocals achieve great variations to bring a good diversity to this great song, although the pace is not so fast, it is easy to get carried away. "Walk With Me Through Fire" carries a bit of progressive at its core, although the chorus is well pulled to Power Metal, this track reminded me a lot of the old days of the band Symphony X, although here there are no comparisons to be made on any aspects, only inspirations and good memories. "Act/Live/Resolve" is a fair song, it's not as exciting as the previous two, bringing a slower tempo, but it's equally well constructed.
"The Crossing" intones all its air of suspense accompanied by a futuristic voice in its intro, and after there is not much to say other than being a ballad, I believe that those who appreciate metal ballads will enjoy it. " As Though The Dead Are Here" is the great masterpiece of this work counting more than twelve minutes long this track really elevates the status of "Hint Of Solace" counting with several time-changes, the music grows every moment sublimating all the great work commissioned by the quintet.
