From the city of Dortmund in Germany, this multi-talented band started off in late 2023, so they are still very much an upcoming band who have brought a few styles including power metal, punk and thrash metal all together to produce a very unique original sound. The band themselves consists of three members who are led by frontwoman VOX INFERNUM who really can scream those sinister high notes with aggression, on the guitars is AETHERIUS as well as arranging the synthesizer parts but then on both bass guitar plus drums, is PERCIVAL DRAKON holds the key to the heartbeat of the band keeping them in time. They have been considered a melodic death metal band but as mentioned before there are other influences thrown into the mix. So their debut release was their EP titled FIRST UPRISING which was released in the year of 2024 in the middle of summer, this was very impressive with some belter and head-banging tracks which there were eight of those on the EP. Up next then was what we had been waiting for since their birth and formation, their debut full length album which is titled SILENT WEAPONS FOR A QUIET WAR as this debut album contains a total whopper of thirteen tracks, as this is their opportunity to show their sheer talent on a bigger scale. So let’s not delay any further and get straight into this album with the title track which is “We Need A Stone” as we hear subtle guitars being strummed as a narrator's voice speaks over for a brief moment.

Once the narrator is finished, a burst of lead guitar, drums and bass guitar as well as female vocals all come simultaneously, as vocals scream to highest heaven as lead guitar has some tasty solo riffs. Drums really set the pace and bash those snare hits as well as cymbals, but it is the female screamer vocals that dominates as the melodic guitars mix so well with death metal vocals, so onwards we go into the next track which is “Silent Weapons For A Quiet War”. As guitars sweep us off our feet, screamer vocals also reach inside our soul as they are like the beating heart of discontent and discord, drums do attempt to show themselves off so with another vocal line it certainly brings more conviction and persuasion too. The lead guitar creates some melodic solo riffs, as well as drums following along and vocals are not let down at all here. The track doesn’t differ too much even though it’s a longer track so as we go into the next track which is “General Energy Concepts”, as lead guitar screeches harmonically before the rest of the band come in even melodic vocals from the female singer is heard in the mix. As drums work amongst the dark forces of power metal guitars, thrash style drums and sinister vocals from the female singer, even the contrast between the melodic and gloomy dynamics of vocals in particular. So onwards we go into the next track which is “E-Model Industry”, as we hear screeching guitars with drums as well as vocals, as there is a different flow in this track, more of a galloping rhythm.

Cymbal hits, melodic guitar riffs and female vocals so sinister and menacing in depth as well as projection, this track does stand out for me for this very reason. There seems to be a panning effect or process of filtering out on those melodic guitars, it does create a less heavier atmosphere perhaps on purpose so the female vocals are not overpowered. This is so creative and works very effectively, the next track is “The 4th Law Of Motion” as we hear a dark and daring crescendo of guitars and vocals hitting those high notes, but now for the first time, we hear female vocals as clear as day, much cleaner and soothing. Drums give a real edgy feel with groovy patterns and hits that make the band stand out on the melodic side, there are more hard rock influences in this track. The arrangement and production is so different and allows each instrument to have their own voice as well as their space and time to shine so we can certainly come to that conclusion. And into the next track which is “Hidden Hand” where we have acoustic guitar strumming along or quieter guitar but then a quick crescendo as drums build up the band. The band are not as dominant in this track, whereas the female vocals take the spotlight, but still the guitars go along nicely with drums as well as bass guitar even a synth or keyboard sound can be heard midway through the track. “Programmed Consent” comes next with subtle guitar playing before there is a sudden volume ascent with lead guitars as well as drums.

Back to the subtle guitar very briefly, then vocals come in as they float in the mix with the drums pulsating in the background, as string sound effects are heard, before lead guitar has some solo riff playing before a passage of clean vocals are in motion by the female vocalist. Thundering drums and lightning guitar solo playing from the instrumental section, as vocals eat up their words with vile and disgust, a breakdown of all sorts is heard before the track continues on with synth parts being played as we come to the next track which is “Confused And Amused”. A resounding wall of sound from drums and guitars, as vocals add to the burning fires of what the band sets up in this track, the thrash metal guitars and death metal vocals work so well together, even the dialogue between each instrument is well arranged. The tone of the track as well is sinister and wild, so much discord and devastation, the lead guitar has some solo playing once more, drums do well to support them here, lots of doom and gloom from the drums, as they stand tall. The tempo doesn’t vary much and well it’s a very simple track, nothing complicated, on we go into “Between Knowing And Disbelief”, lead guitar sings beautifully with notes being picked at a high pitch as drums play a quiet cymbal queuing in the vocals.

A steady tempo in this track allows the drums and guitars to blossom in some way, vocals are as dark and deadly as they have been, vocals even have a short solo part with guitars and drums accompanying them. There are signs of hope and triumph in this track, so much creativity and glorious metal heaven can be heard as we come to the next track which is “Won’t Someone Think Of The Children”. Lead guitar plays magnificently before drums come into the mix, pounding those drums and striking cymbals so well, vocals executing those high notes and the tone of the track is well established. Chunky guitars can also be heard as drums mark those guitar notes with hard hitting kick notes, as vocals continue on but give all the space and time for other musicians. So after so much talent being shown we can go into the next track which is “Doubleplus Truth”, a lot of similar guitar riffs from before and drums take a slightly different pathway, more build ups and nice transitions. The tempo is steady enough and the vocals especially stand out so much, with musical accents and articulation in drums and guitars mostly but this is all tremendous to hear. So onwards we go into the next track which is “99%”, a very straight and even enough tempo, vocals are very much in control here with drums and guitar serving their purpose as they produce a real contrast between death and melodic metal. The lead guitar has a great solo part with drums in tow, before vocals return to the fore, as the track.

Female vocals have some screamer parts and even the commitment in the length of these are very impressive for sure. “ATLAS” is up next and this is the final track of the album too, opening with slashing guitars and pounding drums, before vocals join in as there is certainly a musical aspect to this track even with the backing vocal or harmonies later on. So onwards the band goes, showing what they can do and well there is no better way of finishing on a high and taking so many positives from this album. A short pause is heard also before backing vocals come in and the band are all in together until the very end so a fantastic way to close out. This band is certainly worth a listen and I am sure they will be back for more, they are talented, fully committed and they are not to be messed around with so watch out for them is all I can say.
