From their Facebook page, UNBEING hails from Montreal, Canada, and this is how they describe their music: Sometimes, it's steroid induced progressive music. Other time it's hypnotic rhythms and catchy melodies. At its core, it's metal that even your grandma can enjoy- without anyone screaming at her for 45 minutes. "Delta" contains seven tracks.

"Deployment" leads off the album; a quick three-and-a-half-minute blast of heavy rhythms and accents. Some lead guitar comes in after the half-way mark, along with a bit of melody. "Maim-Recover" is a ten-minute beast. Opening with heavy guitar accents that give way to bass strikes, you can feel the cadence resonating in your chest. An ambient passage with melodic overtones takes the song to the half-way point, while the heavy accents are loosened a bit. The heaviness returns along with fretboard scratching. It waxes and wanes, sometimes letting the aggressive rhythms take control, other times the ambient and melodic passages.

"Retributor" opens with heavy and aggressive rhythms out of the gate. A hypnotizing pattern develops that is repeated, with dark tones in the background. Around the half-way mark, eerie lead guitar tones take you on a trip to outer space. Soft piano notes follow, with dexterous bass guitar. "Drone" is a quick three minutes. Following an ambient opening, those heavy rhythms fill the air. "Infrared" is just two-and-a-half minutes long. Ethereal notes open the song, heavy with atmosphere and subdued melodies. Bass guitar takes over from there. It ends before any real sound develops. "Metal Gear" is a seven-minute beast, opening with those Djent rhythms along with some background piano. From there, a variety of styles develops...sometimes heavy and punchy, while other times more melodic.

"Sea, Air & Land (Seal)" closes the album. At first, it breathes with subdued melodies and a little electronica. The lead guitar notes are fantastic. Its mellow tones make for a peaceful listening experience. It slowly fades out. Overall, I really found the album to my liking. These two musicians are very talented, as evidenced by their command of their individual instruments. I also like their style on the album. They have those heavy rhythms that you would come to expect in the genre, but augment them with melodies and ambient passages that leave a smile on your face. I would definitely recommend this album for fans of instrumental music in general.
