Battle Metal

Finland has unleashed it's armies and no one can stand before their mighty power and rage. The hordes of the Finnish Vikings are coming down from the mountains and from the shores of the lakes to conquer the whole world.
Turisas is another great weapon in Finland's hands against the commercial music who is trying to suffocate us with its puppets. Turisas, the ancient Finnish god of war, is here to help their comrades in the war against the world - wide trading of the human spirit and soul.
Turisas are from Finland and they I'd characterize their playing style as Viking Metal. I think that their basic influences must be Bal Sagoth and Finntroll. Their music is very good with an epical atmosphere and the songs are very good compositions. The vocals are mostly distorted. The epical atmosphere of their songs is based on the keyboards; they also have some folk parts with violins, flutes and an accordion.
"Battle Metal is Turisas' first album and I think that we will soon hear news of them again. I really like all these things happening in Finland as all the time we see more Viking Metal bands from this country. I hope that this will continue on for many years to come.
In conclusion I have to say that all the fans of Viking Metal will enjoy this album and not only them.
