Execution: Live Reunion DVD

Brazilian metallers TRIBUZY breathed life through the vision of singer Renato Tribuzy (also in THOTEN). The man's named to be one of the 'top' Metal throats in Brazil. Their studio debut, Execution, featured a bonus 'dream team' of Bruce Dickinson (IRON MAIDEN), Michael Kiske (ex-HELLOWEEN), Mat Sinner (SINNNER, PRIMAL FEAR), Ralf Scheepers (TYRAN PACE, PRIMAL FEAR), Roland Grapow (MASTERPLAN, ex-HELLOWEEN), Andreas Kisser (SEPULTURA), Kiko Loureiro (ANGRA) and Roy Z. (HALFORD, BRUCE DICKINSON). Now, the band releases a live album, Execution Live Reunion, recorded at the Credicard Hall in Sao Paulo, Brazil in November 2005, the DVD format of witch we will commend upon.
Featuring special guest appearances by Bruce Dickinson, Mat Sinner, Ralf Scheepers, Roy Z., Roland Grapow and Kiko Loureiro - plus produced by Roy Z. and Renato Tribuzy and mixed by Roy Z. at Mountain View studio, in Los Angeles, California - it is with much of finalized curiosity to say that this live attempt is really worth the notice. The band - bearing in mind they have released just one studio album in prior - is in top form and rather 'tied'. Tribuzy's vocals are really notable, a mix of ANGRA's Andre Matos, Ralf Scheepers, Tim 'Ripper' Owens (WINTER'S BANE, JUDAS PRIEST, ICED EARTH), Bruce Dickinson and James Rivera (HELSTAR, DESTINY'S END, VICIOUS RUMORS). He can easily access high-pitched stuff without sounding that tiring, while his middle 'thing' is even more interesting. He sounds evil when he wants to, while he seems a little bit of confused when he tries to upgrade his vocal arrangements from verse to chorus and vice versa (minor drawback, anyway).
The band's music - in the vein of JUDAS PRIEST/HALFORD, 'late' ICED EARTH, some of 90s German Heavy Metal, a little bit of 'famous era' METALLICA stuff and HELSTAR - is (in general) applicable for banging your head, featuring metallic solos/dual leads, sharp riffs, thunderous bass lines and demonic (double-bass exaggerating, at times) drum parts. All four musicians supporting Renato Tribuzy are skilled, plus they do not forget their 'metal' origin. And this is surely of notice for the hundreds of fans gathered at the venue.
The DVD setlist consists mostly - as expected - from tunes off the band's 2005 debut. Still, the participation of all these Metal stars may be a good purpose for purchasing this DVD release (the audio format was released a couple of months earlier). You will enjoy TRIBUZY's take on the SINNER tune Nature Of Evil (Mat Sinner, Germany's Metal guru is he), the cover of PRIMAL FEAR's Final Embrace is of 'cult' status while it is rather upon-personal- belief the remake of Tears Of The Dragon along Bruce Dickinson...Anyway, all of the guest participants performances are (at least) enjoyable.
Execution Live Reunion's bonus goodies include sets of interviews with Renato and all the guests, speakin' 'bout the whole TRIBUZY project, plus a rich photo gallery. We could live without it, still the main dish is of guaranteed quality to keep you posted on high-class audio/visual Metal music. I'd propose you save some money for this release.
