Titan Breed - Legacy album cover

From their Facebook page, "born and bred in Glasgow, Scotland, TITAN BREED draw from all corners of the metal genre. Combining the grit and growling tones of modern metal, while channeling classic riffage in the vein of BLACK SABBATH and PANTERA that we all know and love. "Legacy" contains five tracks.

The title track leads off the album, opening with doleful clean guitars and a depressive tone. From there, a heavy, mid-tempo riff leads the way, with raspy vocals. The music isn't very dynamic however as they lay on that open note too much. "Destined to Fail" brings more of the same, though it is slightly quicker in pace. They have to find a way to diversify or this album will fall flat on its face. "The Key to Fear" is very similar in both sound and pacing...there is little to like here.

"A Change of Fate" offers a slightly different sound, opening with semi-clean vocals but that guitar work needs a lot of help...it is so one-dimensional. "We Bring Destruction" closes the album. It is another song that lacks dynamism, and the chorus needs a lot of help. Uggh. Overall, this album fails to deliver anything memorable. The riffs are trite and the vocals one-dimensional. I would offer a bit of advice but I'm afraid it would not matter much in the end. There is very little to champion here.
