When women came to play music in Metal and Rock, there was a change, because they were seen always as sexual objects for many (and still are for many people, unfortunately). They're worthy and time stated that men and women are alike into music, and no argument can proof the opposite. And from Sweden, a female quartet arrives to kick some asses with the torpedo "Heat Wave". Their name: THUNDERMOTHER.

They're play a savage, dirty and nasty Hard Rock, and respecting their musical personality (that's strong), it would be not a sin to say that they're a melodic female version of AC/DC, but with some nasty influences from Punk Rock in some parts. It's really thunderous, technically simple, and charming. But be prepared: this band can shake and crack the ground with their music.

The known Danish producer Søren Andersen is the old who sculpted the sound quality of "Heat Wave", creating something that bears an organic feeling (due the nasty instrumental tunes used by the band), but clean and full of energy, a mix that is becoming a tendency for bands with an Old School insight, but that isn't so easy to be done (but that Søren always does in an excellent form).

Their best shots: "Loud and Alive" (a savage and dirty song full of a crude energy, with a strong and solid work of bass guitar and drums, and what a hooking chorus), "Dog From Hell" (a Blues tempered Hard Rock, with an introspective feeling, but with a great performance from vocals), "Back in '76" (another blockbuster song, with a fine balance between melody and aggressiveness, and very good guitar riffs, indeed), "Into the Mud" (a 'motorheadian' touch can be heard due the frantic energy that flows from the guitars), "Heat Wave" (an intimate might blow of energy, with great melodies and chorus), "Driving in Style" (here, some features from Northern Heavy Metal appears in the harmonies, and another good moment from bass guitar and drums), "Mexico" (a Bluesy Hard Rock with very catchy melodies), and "Ghosts" (another thunder shock given by the band that can make walls tremble). But the entire album is great, indeed.

THUNDERMOTHER deserves its name, because its music is really thunderous and expressive, and I hope that "Heat Wave" will be release in Brazil (where I live, for I need a physical copy of it).
