THE TEXAS CHAINSAW DUST LOVERS (TTCDL) was born in 2011 in Paris, France. TTCDL released a demo album in 2012 "Born Bad", but was solidified in 2014 with the addition of Mehany. After this addition the band released an EP in 2014 "The Wolf Is Rising", getting high praises from the French press. After touring France and Spain the band went into recording their debut studio-length album "Me And The Devil", released in March 2016. This heavy "sex'n'roll" album comes in with ten tracks and just over 43 minutes of listening time.

Track one, "Me and the Devil" sets the tone for the album. It's hard, has great riffs, a bass line that is low and gripping, drums that pull everything together, and vocals that are clean but gruff, leaving a unique vocal element in the tracks. "Me and the Devil" is energetic, has guttural screams with some classic but unique guitar riffs. The end of the tracks turns a little bluesy, which adds another element to an already packed track. This is a great listen and the perfect intro track. "Dark Stuff", track two, the vocals are phenomenal. This track allows for range and harmony that wasn't found in the first track. This track is also a uniquely classic track that reminds you of something, but you can't put your finger on it exactly.

Track five, "Doin No Harm" is a favorite of mine on this album. I love the intro to the track. Those guitars are on point with the drums mixed in and how it turns super light in intervals throughout the track. All of it mixed into this big ball of musical fun makes this track a glorious addition to the album. Not to mention the vocals have a extra rich. Track seven, "That Town Under The Sun" starts out something like a TOOL song would, but then adds an extra smorgasbord of elements, such as: a mid west sound (hence the name), but it also incorporates a Spanish vibe and a military march ending on a tropical tone. This is the shortest track on the album, but is the track that really shows what these guys are capable of. This track is incredible.

The final track "The Minute" is super bluesy with an added dark element that sounds natural in the environment. The lowest bass and guitars are found in this track with phenomenal percussion. This is a fun and unique way to end the album. This album makes me think of the "Rocky Horror Picture Show" in some ways. It has a musical meets hard rock feel riddled in sex. It's a pleasing and fun album to listen to. It's a more progressive sound with haunted feeling. For those who prefer a band that's still heavy but has a less harsh bit, this is a great album to check out and the bonus is it's kind of sexy.
